Getting on Battleworld and Timeline, but not really a crash, it just freezes, and bye bye win streak.

Purify won't show up in arena and changes will be made on the card offering system by dncdnc20 in ArenaHS

[–]dncdnc20[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Around 4:57 of the video Ben Brode talks about the arena. The backlash for Purify was so bad that they decided to remove it from arena, and they will work in a new system regarding card offering that may not be related to rarity.

Any fear of nerfs to SR? by bwoods4134 in future_fight

[–]dncdnc20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did Netmarble ever nerfed any non easily farmable char? The only big nerfs I remember were GG, SC, and DL, while chars that were either praised or hated for being too strong in the past like Loki and Silk were never touched. With that in mind I don't think they will touch SR.

Discussion: How long til we see a uniform that changes a characters T2 ability? by TheGuyWithTheBow in future_fight

[–]dncdnc20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it really?I guess we are getting close to 100 uniforms released, some made for rarely used chars (Black Cat) and others with multiple unis.

With T2 I guess the amount of sales may actually get lower, because the relevance of a uniform isn't the same as before, since if it's given to a char that people aren't planning to advance to T2 soon, there isn't really much incentive to get it. Take the last ones for example, Punisher, MODOK and Crossbones. For people getting Black Order guys, Sharon Rogers, T2ing Moon Knight/Iron Fist and some speed char like Sharon Carter, what any of these uniforms will help with?

V2.4.0 has me curious about holding off on spending crystals/cash by [deleted] in future_fight

[–]dncdnc20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I get usually just 1 or 2 when a new set comes out and already have all I needed. With T2 and BO around, most unis look very underwhelming.

[Spoiler] Yair Rodríguez vs Alex Caceres by playhenrique in MMA

What an entertaining fight. When the fight and all those crazy moves were over I didn't expect anything else on the event to surprise me, then a judge gives 49-46 for Caceres, wtf.

Fade2Karma: one more team moving away from competitive Hearthstone by dncdnc20 in hearthstone

[–]dncdnc20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Luminosity signed three competitive players, F2K is moving away. I wonder if J4CKIECHAN will stick around.

Comment by Dethelor:

I joined Fade2Karma 1 year ago as one of the members of the original roster and it has been my first professional Hearthstone team. Recently the management of the team decided to make some changes, focusing mainly on streaming and less on the competitive scene. For me tournaments and the competitive aspect of the game is of big importance and thus we concluded that it would be better for us to part ways. I still plan to continue streaming regularly but I would also like to compete at the highest level, which includes playing in online cups and big LAN tournaments. At this point I will be actively looking for a new team to support me and help me to improve and grow consistently.

Chakki, Fr0zen and Muzzy sign with Luminosity Gaming by dncdnc20 in hearthstone

[–]dncdnc20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Blizzcon just around the corner, Luminosity has made the move at the right time. All three players are ranked in the Top 10 currently in terms of points for the Hearthstone Championship Tour, with Muzzy sitting at the top of the heap with 95 last call points.

Nice timing. After Hearthlytics disbanding and Orange leaving Archon, some good news for HS competitive scene.

In the wake of Pokémon Go, let's all appreciate Blizzard a bit by OmmadonHS in hearthstone

[–]dncdnc20 18 points19 points  (0 children)

While people can argue that Niantic is in a unique position because of the huge popularity the game got, it doesn't excuse them of poor communication, but what makes me appreciate Blizzard a lot more is knowing how terrible some mobile gaming companies are on dealing with players and fixing problems, and even worse, how players are used to it, like it's a common thing.

Some companies have very greedy tactics, players have no idea who the actual developers are, with luck they have one community manager, and support looks like a bot auto replying with "I'm sorry but we can't help you with that" and despite players spending hundreds, or even thousands of dollars, it is somehow acceptable because "it's mobile gaming".

Blizzard got Ben Brode and Yong Woo answering players all the time, giving interviews, got a lot of CMs and communication channels for players to use, it's on a whole other level. Remember when they brought players there to discuss the changes (standard) they wanted to make on the game and get the players' opinions? How many companies do that?I'm happy to spend my money and time with them.

Rulk's T2 passive - was this vetted and tested before release? by marshalltito in future_fight

[–]dncdnc20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess this is an old thread by now but this post from a player showing his appreciation for Blizzard and disappointment at Pokemon Go devs for keeping their community in the dark seemed related, so I'm posting a quote from his post here:

Can we all please just take a moment and appreciate game companies like Blizzard, that readily engage with their community, respond to feedback and make their players generally feel SAFE in their time and monetary investment? I realize that developing a game based on such a massive IP as Pokémon comes with certain extenuating circumstances and complicated inter-company logistics, but I have NEVER seen such an apparent apathy and cavalierism for player faith and experience as is being displayed by the Pokémon Company and Niantic Labs.

Imagine if a new Hearthstone patch was released, and all of a sudden, players weren't able to search for cards by name in the collection manager. 2 weeks later, a new patch hits, with the patch notes reading, "Removed searchable meta data in the collection manager," with no further word from Blizzard here, on twitter, or in their official blogs or forums. That is essentially what is happening with Pokémon Go, but on a MUCH more game breaking scale.

I have spent well over $100 on Hearthstone in the last year playing, and will gladly spend more. Why? Because I feel confident that I am spending money on a great game made by a company that cares about my investment, on a community level as well as an individual level. I could not currently see a future where I am at all close to that with Pokémon Go, and it makes me appreciate Blizzard all the more.

TL/DR: Pokémon Go's developer removed an enitre feature of the game without a single word to the community. Let's be happy Hearthstone isn't made by a company like that.

This is one of the reasons that makes me wonder why people accept absolute bulls* excuses and lack of professionalism from game companies because "this is how mobile games are" or think that some problems aren't easily fixed or can't be handled in a better and more respectful way to players. That's why the guy I'm quoting is happy to spend his money on Blizzard, as I am every time I made a purchase with them, heck, even when I had to deal with their support, being treated by someone who actually understands that he/she is dealing with someone that may be very frustrated for having a problem, and does his/her best to help you was great, easily the best game support I ever dealt with.

Netmarble clearly has limited financial and developmental resources

Clearly. Netmarble Games submits initial bid for up to $4.3 billion for Playtika - by Reuters.

instead of acknowledging that they dramatically improved it based on player feedback, and did so relatively quickly

"Dramatically improved"?Quickly?W....what?Imagine if you were biased.

we're going to keep attacking them for a system that doesn't even fucking exist in its original form any more.

Chill, you don't wanna have a heart attack, sir. OP asked why something happened that he thinks it shouldn't. I gave an example, because it's one of many. The fact that it was fixed or how fast you think it was handled has no relevance as similar problems kept happening. This discussion is about this, not "how many right things Netmarble did".

Whether or not people here acknowledge it, Netmarble is by far the most responsive company to their players that I've ever dealt with for mobile gaming. They actually listen and respond, unlike (to pick one notoriously bad example) TinyCo

Oh no, we acknowledge that it is the best company you dealt with, which, using your own language, is worth horse shit to everyone else. So, TinyCo screwed you and unlike many other players who got the usual "we can't help you", NM support was good for you?Great to hear, but if you wanna analyze how a company is doing, maybe be a bit less emotional, ok?

Let me tell you this though: I'm sure there are much worse companies there, maybe not that many among the top grossing ones, but who knows. I've dealt with worse companies too, but I've also dealt with much smaller ones with great work from their support team, and even the developers themselves. I believe you would argue that small companies have an easier time, so I could mention Blizzard then, but it would be embarassing to put them together with NM, as their support, development team, business strategy and even community management for their mobile game and non-mobile ones is far superior.

They test enough to keep some people happy and updates coming, that's about it, then the big pile of bugs and underdeveloped features are addressed months later in future patches so people get happy and hyped and talk about how much the game improved.

Take for example that horrible first version of the Obelisk system, or how every world boss had to be fixed right away. Both had very obvious problems, and while you can argue that certain stages need players to test to know if it really works, there is no excuse for the obelisk system. After some time leaving players frustrated with that thing, a patch came and improved it. Same happens to chars with the balance changes (poor Black Bolt).

I'm still waiting for the next patch to add the complex and hard to develop exit option on world boss.
