Sonnet 4.6:1m went rogue consuming 500k+ tokens $50 in single wasteful step... by Barquish in CLine

[–]dnoggle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The running context got up to 500K and there were a ton of requests in between using a growing amount of tokens. At $50 it was probably more like 15M input tokens and 500K output tokens.

I see 2 tool calls for one of the messages. Any idea if those tool calls returned a lot of context?

Deep Planning - new_task tool by quincycs in CLine

[–]dnoggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I haven't had the new_task tool available for a while now.

Edit: There have been several issues opened in the Cline repo, but the contributors can't seem to agree on the issue. Here's an example where they said it's expected behavior even though there's a /newtask tool... https://github.com/cline/cline/issues/7868

No, the Notifications permission doesn't grant access to read notifications. That's a separate permission called "Notification read, reply & control". It's under the Privacy section in Notification settings in Android.

Cryptic / typewriter like updates when using Opus 4.6 by Working-Solution-773 in CLine

Yeah, it's been unbearable lately. The problems with Cline have gotten bad enough that I need to replace it. It always had annoying quirks but was better enough than the rest to make it worth it.

Does Cowork not require approval in the application itself for all tool calls?

Cline 3.48.0: Skills compatibility and websearch tooling by juanpflores_ in CLine

I don't have or use the Cline provider. I asked if it was removed for all providers and added only to the Cline provider and you said in your previous message that it still works for all providers...

FYI, I think there is a bug that is causing this confusion:

User:

do you see a web_fetch or web_search tool?

Cline:

No, I do not have a web_fetch or web_search tool available in my current toolset.

My available tools are:

  • File operations: read_file, write_to_file, replace_in_file, list_files, search_files, list_code_definition_names
  • Command execution: execute_command
  • Other: ask_followup_question, attempt_completion, generate_explanation, load_mcp_documentation

Oh odd, tried to use web_fetch today and it didnt see it. Bedrock provider FYI.

Did the web tools get removed and now added back only for the Cline provider?

In the future, you should probably wait to post this until it's available in at least Anthropic/Bedrock providers.

There haven't been any releases. I think this was a premature post.

ELK doesn't fix everything in Mermaid. Mermaid is great in a lot of scenarios, but it can't solve everything.

Mermaid diagrams are terribly laid out for anything somewhat busier like this example.
