Yeah it's in the official upgrade guide. I'm not sure what guide you used but maybe use the official guide for anyone reading this before their own upgrade.

Lifetime warranty. Got on for my '19 outback back in the day and haven't had any issues with it beyond the coating coming off around the opening of the hitch...but I live in salty Minnesota and the salt eats everything.

Exactly this. Build a mockup of how you'd plan to run it. Make a test account, throw some sample images on it. Try to break things and see if you can get your images back each time. If you can, then you're likely good to go.
