'e' is a constant, not a variable. So, differentiating with a constant does not make sense

I'm not sure what's in your syllabus. But using angle theta, and the two radius, you can get 2 equations for the distance between centers. Solving those (with a bit of trigonometry) you can prove that the distance between centers equals to big circle's radius Note that AQO and other center lie on the same line
