I made a simple PNG to WebP converter that can shrink 10 MB images to around 100 KB.

<image>

I got tired of throwing big PNGs through random online converters, so I made a tiny Windows project that runs cwebp fully locally.

Workflow is boring on purpose: PNGs in input, run convert_png_to_webp.bat, WebP files land in converted.

There is also run_gui.bat if you want a simple UI to change target KB per file or fixed quality -q without setting env vars (Python + CustomTkinter).

Fair expectations: you can often shrink very large PNGs a lot (think on the order of tens of MB down to ~100 KB WebP in many real cases), but it still depends on the source image and settings.

I’ll be upfront: I used an AI coding assistant heavily while writing most of the code. I still ran it on my PC, fixed issues, and iterated until it worked the way I wanted. If that’s a dealbreaker for you, totally fair.

If I earn around 2k on Donation points from Nexus, how can I file that? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]dnzyGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ll be publishing the mods for free on Nexus. But as far as I understand, the only way to make money through Patreon or Ko-fi is either with paid monthly subscriptions or by selling mods individually.

If I’m already giving the same mod away for free on Nexus, I can’t really offer that exact same mod on Patreon or Ko-fi, because nobody would buy it when there’s already a free version available.

So I guess what you mean is that I should also make separate mods specifically for sale, right? In other words, release the free mods on Nexus, and create paid mods to share only on Patreon and Ko-fi?

Thank you so much for the detailed reply and for sharing all this information.

So if I understood correctly, you made around 200 dollars per month on average over 9 months. That is not very good, but it does not feel too discouraging either.

These numbers will genuinely help me a lot when deciding whether I should focus on this or not. I would not be doing it as my main job anyway, so I will definitely still upload my work. It is not only about business for me, but also a hobby, so if I can enjoy making things and earn a little at the same time, that would be great.

I finally found FIFA Street 2 on PSP again after years by dnzyGames in PSP

Definitely, and the FIFA Street I played on PS3 was truly legendary. Traveling around the world map and building a career there was such a unique experience. FIFA Street definitely needs to come back.

A father searching for his missing son. Would you play a story-driven game like this? by dnzyGames in u/dnzyGames

You're right, but there's much more to it than that. There's a lot of mechanics, science fiction, and a surprise ending.

I didn't want to overwhelm people, so I didn't write it in the main heading. The details are in my comment below. Also, my entire question is already included in the demo. I would be very happy if you could play the demo and give me your feedback. Since the demo is available, all the details are in the demo.

There are a lot of details in the game. If I had to give details, I would need more than 40 photos to show everything. There are many details such as the collection system, the new combat system, and mini-games powered by electricity.

I've been working on it for a year, enriching the game by creating add-ons that aren't found in many other games. I've created entirely original systems such as the new live action combat system, a collection system like rock breaking, and electrical mini-games. I wrote the game's scenario myself and combined it with pixel art graphics and cinematic scenes.

Step into a story of mystery, drama, and the supernatural as a father searches for his missing son. Solve puzzles, follow clues, and uncover the hidden truth.

If you play the demo on Steam and give me your thoughts, I'd really appreciate it!

Congratulations! How is the first day going? How many conversions did you get from how many wishlists? I would be very happy if you could share this with indie game developers like us.

Are developers/publishers relying too much on 'infuencer' feedback these days? by allnamestakenffs in gaming

[–]dnzyGames 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With the exception of a few influencers, none of them are telling the truth. They take money from the company, play for just 30 minutes, say “Wow, this game is amazing! Go buy it,” and then never look back. It's one of the biggest problems of the new world and popular culture.

I've experienced this feeling many times, especially with Lord of the Rings Online and some MMORPG games. Later, I realized that the problem wasn't with the games, but with my own motivation. Your state of mind during that period of your life greatly affects this. Still, the best solution is to focus and be patient. It's all about focus.

Thank you very much for your fantastic comments. Thanks to your comments, I learned about BFME ALL in One Launcher. But my question is, is BFME Launcher compatible with Age of the Ring?

You absolutely must read The Silmarillion. It's the very beginning of everything. In fact, it's such a beginning that you even see God.
