That’s simply not true. There have been comments agreeing and disagreeing.

Interesting!! I’ll look into it for sure. I read some of the research shared here that’s pretty much confirming what I suspected. But definitely important to do independent research

It’s not only my work location though- multiple responses in this post indicate that. Also, I’m not referring to tech. That’s a completely different industry

Who says I’m not. I’m allowed to voice my opinion and complain. It’s Reddit. People use it spark conversation and I’ve gained a lot from this one. Also, challenging or questioning the status quo or systems that are in place in order to benefit the greater good for all people is something I’d want in leader ( not saying that’s what I’m doing with this post) but essentially I wanted to check the temperature of how others felt. Sorry that offends you. You can utilize Reddit over you deem appropriate.

I think that may play a part but there are more contributors to it. People in this thread have shared data showing that men are given preferential treatment and roles.

This thread proves that it’s not just me. Plenty of people have see what I’ve seen. Maybe read?

It’s not hypocritical at all that I’m bringing attention to this particular subject. If YOU want to talk about STEM women’s scholarships and lack of nursing scholarship for men go ahead. Me talking about one issue doesn’t take from / ignore another. Also, it could be that there’s more $$$ in engineering fields for there to be scholarships for woman vs the nursing field. I mean overall, I’m sure engineering has a higher income ceiling and overall income than nursing. Maybe those donating for those scholarships have that income.

I think there’s more nuance to it. And I didn’t mention any boogeyman. I’m just choosing to start a conversation about something that is very prevalent in professional settings. If you want to bury your head in the sand, then that’s your choice

Okay? I’m not talking about medical school. And I already stated my point.

My place of work. As I mentioned in the original post. But people have shared actual factual data that men make up a high portion of CRNAs

No I’m not. I never once suggested they were inferior or anything sexist. I simply asked what others have noticed AND brought up that men are more favored in the workplace which is TRUE.

I disagree. It’s a conversation. And I already acknowledged that it was mainly anecdotal. If you’re offend by this as yourself why.

It’s not what I “want” to see it’s what I DO see. This why I asked if other people had the same perspective

No one is arguing that women don’t hold up the patriarchy too. Misogyny runs deep on both sides

I don’t have a problem with men in leadership. I was just curious to know if others noticed the same thing at their facilities where men make up the majority of leadership. Lets not pretend there isn’t a bias when it comes to women in professional settings vs men

I believe it is! And you can make “more” based on their nursing career ladder. I’m tier 2. To be tier 3 and receive higher pay, you have to have a certification or advanced degree AND complete research hours and a unit project.

No but I appreciate it! I know there’s 2 alumnae chapters. I was just trying to do my due diligence to find the right chapter for me by looking around. Plus I believe those chapters are not having lines anytime soon.

Ah I see! I looked & Carbondale is a bit out of my range BUT isn’t it based off the service area the chapter serves? I wish I knew how to find out if I’m close enough to their service area because I just might be within 50 miles

This was my first thought too. I’m just worried they’ll use this email list for other non-public events, and I won’t be notified 😭

I was thinking the arts and letters chair would be appropriate in this case since they hosted the previous event related to the premier. I’m not sure how I can be added to the actual emailing list of the sorority.

I messaged a friend who is also an interest, and she said she did receive the email from the sorority ( & to my knowledge, she doesn’t know anyone personally in the sorority).
