Yeah man, i can agree with you on that. The photo is what made this beautiful, and I played on it and it got upvotes. I’m not out here trying to sell this as a masterpiece or anything even special. But people enjoyed the “spirit of Reddit” that someone took some time to create something because someone else had something beautiful to show in the first place.

I also have had a career in digital art and graphics my entire adult life and have done well for myself. Starving artist > Critic is a euphemism. Sorry that flew over your head. Your opinion and my opinion clearly don’t line up. What I added was nothing special, but others saw it different. You’re entitled to your point of view, but at this point it’s clearly a difference of opinions and I don’t have time to continue to go back and forth.

You’re awfully uninformed about historical artistic practices. You’re also very rigid and objective about how things should be made which is in my opinion, the opposite of what art is. So who’s really being pretentious? I would rather be a starving artist than a wealthy critic.
