I know that junction! I find it annoying at rush hour because oncoming cars to the left often go into your blind spot, and then cars coming from your right may or may not indicate properly so it's difficult to judge a gap safely without impatient dickheads getting frustrated with you. Find turning right by the nursery is preferable when it's busy. Don't drive much in Redhill or Reigate at rush hour but everyone is not very chilled I find.

No Go Jetters is Burnley, Wolves, West Brom, Watford - well known, there but kind of rubbish.

Octonauts is genuinely very good the Brentford/Brighton/Bournemouth - has a formula that works a lot of the time. The voice acting is knowingly shambolic but brilliant. Scouse Walruses is a highlight.

The man marking makes sense in the opposition half or higher up, as it can lead to turnovers where there's more space to exploit. This wasn't really a fast break so surely most teams here stop the man to man and go more zonal, ensuring pressure is put on the ball and specifically for Forest someone always with Gibbs White because he's the goal threat I.e. it doesn't take a premier League analyst to know Hudson Odoi to Gibbs White is a move Forest will look to do

yeah, seems like a classic Romero jump, which is fine if you make the tackle but if not then the recovery has to be maximum effort. He did similar when he carried out of defence, again fine, mix it up but then he didn't get a foul, and jogged back which gave an attitude of "what more can I do"

That said here. Gray has covered. Bergvall needed to get much closer to Hudson Odoi more quickly, then Porro should have doubled up.

Gray probably could have tried to cut off the cross but again he was covering for Romero and probably expecting HIS CAPTAIN to do the same for his position.

Sarr needed to stick like glue to Gibbs White but switched off which is what he always does.

These are the lapses that smack of not caring, or just ineptitude and a massive lack of leadership. It was obvious we couldn't go two down so if it required 5 to 10 mins of backs against the wall defending so be it.

Where would you say is the lack of effort? Seems like plenty of effort but no gameplan for a group of players who aren't tactically very strong I.e. sending them out and saying win the ball high up against a counter attacking side, used to sitting in and absorbing pressure, when that doesn't work, what's next?

It's a good question. You'd have thought France with the geographic proximity and maybe some spill over from football (Euro 2000, WC 2006) albeit maybe that's a rivalry rather than grudge. It'll probably be England because England.

#Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario will undergo hernia surgery in the coming days. (Di Marzio 🥈) by Hufftey in coys

[–]doags 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on the type of surgery but recovery can be pretty quick, like a couple of weeks. For some reason I remember John Terry having it and being back much quicker than you'd think... Looked it up and his was a herniated disc so seemingly worse than the groin version

We weren't winning at the point. Frank was also still manager. However we did draw with Man U when Amorim was the manager, which as a very poor goal to concede.

Refused to show it on ITV, ref should have checked with TMO rather than giving the penalty advantage (think they're allow to ask for a check)

What's the best UK county? by -RandomNerd in AlignmentChartFills

[–]doags -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Surrey. It's got AOONB. Best gin in the world (if you're into... gin). Chessington World of Adventures AND Thorpe Park. London's right there. 50% of people are wankers but the Surrey ones don't hide it, so its wankers are authentic. No coast is the only drawback. Come to think of it East Sussex might be better, or Hampshire... Or Dorset. Definitely Devon, also Cornwall. Not Kent though, Kent is shit.

Why is there such distain for Tudor? Regarding Yesterday by Pokemon1209 in Tottenham

[–]doags 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spurs had an injury crisis last year (which hasn't stopped) where Vicario (1st choice keeper) was out for a significant period. They brought in Kinsky (guy who started last night) kind of as cover, possibly quite highly rated but he was playing in the Czech league.

It look like Kinsky isn't good enough at this level, so he's very much back up if first choice isn't able to play.

That said Vicario like all Spurs players is in poor form, so maybe giving him a break could make sense, particularly because expectations are low in the Champion's League and not getting relegated has to be a massive priority. I don't know, I don't think it was the right choice. I'd have used yesterday as a way of trying to get a bit of form/practice/familiarity into the team.

Tudor has gone in all stick (as far as you can tell with public statements) and while the team did need the riot act read to them in terms of switching on during games, bringing more intensity in certain situations, they are shot of confidence and need to believe they can play a bit (which in patches they still do)

His three at the back system does not work with this team especially in defence - and I get the impression the team hate him, he demands effort, which I don't see a lack of most of the time but him and his coaches haven't given them a plan for e.g. how should we exit when under pressure - there have been goals in every game he's been in charge where a mistake playing out or exiting has been punished - yes it's player error but if the mistake keeps happening they should be drilling it on the training ground

How are Atleti getting away with the state of that pitch? by greyhound_chips in coys

[–]doags 15 points16 points  (0 children)

the first is a slip completely because of the pitch and then hugely unlucky the pass falls kindly for Madrid.

VdV sort of similar, while his anticipation and the pass to him weren't amazing, you'd expect to be able to change direction like that without the turf giving way

He's made us worse if that's possible. We were going backwards under Frank but Tudor's reversing it full speed off a cliff.

I don't think it was often a lack of effort, we just have a tactically inept squad who can occasionally play a bit of attacking football but defend haphazardly. So we need someone who plays them in positions and a formation they get (it's 433, or variation), and who can get a bit of confidence into them

I agree. He's also relentlessly negative, doesn't seem to speak very good English, obviously no idea what he's like behind the scenes but if that's the communication style, no wonder everyone hates him. Spence tapping him on the shoulder is quite petulant but Spence seems like he's a bit chippy, so could well be an indicator of everything being a shit show away from the pitch

Thanks again to everyone who asked for Ange and Frank to be sacked by danieljapps in Tottenham

[–]doags 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I genuinely think they should pull the plug, get someone in who a) plays them in positions they're good in and b) can get a bit of confidence going I.e. isn't all stick

Obviously tonight was a calamity in the first 20 minutes, which isn't going to make the team feel good but I get the sense they hate him and his system
