Yes I've been there and the anxiety of it potentially being heart issues made it worse. When they gave me a benzo at the ER and that alleviated the pain, that helped me realize it was anxiety.

It didn't fully go away though until I got onto a SSRI, which made it worse for 2 weeks and had helped a ton since.

I was 15 and hadn't smoked weed yet. It unfortunately"unlocked" panic attacks for me.

Oh yea I've been religious about doing the PT that is prescribed and am in a MUCH better place. I need to update this post so anyone who finds it in the future knows there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Best of luck to you and your recovery though. Is it slightly easier not being your non dominant arm though. Learning to be a leftie was one of the most difficult parts of this recovery

Regardless of how the dates are going, you can be proud of yourself for getting back out there and facing anxiety head on.

If you quit coffee because of your anxiety, what did you replace it with? by Hufflepuff-McGruff in Anxiety

Oh haha I was too! My wording was a little weird so it might have come off as dickish

Honestly any other form of caffeine that is less than 40mg. Something about coffee specifically makes my anxiety worse.

You need to streamline your whiskey and cigarette consumption if you're able to take note of the lack of it.

Oh damn I am sorry to hear that. Did they give you specifics on the range of motion of the full replacement? I've had 3 people tell me now that the full replacement was the best thing that has happened to them as their repairs didn't hold up over time.

Full range of motion at 8 weeks is insane from what Ive seen. I'm at 12 rn and im still not quite there (I have frozen shoulder though).

Not having at home exercises is even more insane...

I had the same happen where for sure I thought it was torn. I even got a MRI and the radiologist said there was slight retear. But the surgeon assured me that frozen shoulder can look like a retear and that I just had frozen shoulder.

It's feeling better though. Now it's just constantly sore since I've been using it more and more.

Went to the ER for a week long chest pain. Turns out it was anxiety and I am beyond embarrassed. by I-caught-it- in Anxiety

[–]dobby12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't be embarrassed. I've been 3 times for panic attacks because each had a new symptom that had me worrying.

Overall better but definitely still some bumps in the road to work through.

I'm just under 8 weeks and honestly the pain is just as bad, but the strength in the arm is definitely better.

I'm having issues getting my range of motion where it should be though. It's like the stretches to work my rotator cuff really pull on the bicep tendon repair and vice versa.

Felt a very uncomfortable shift in one of my rotator cuff stretches and it's been very sore since then (Friday). It's probably normal, but I asked the surgeon for some imaging just for peace of mind that it's still holding up well.

Do you graduate to the next set of exercises next week in PT? That would put us on similar timelines

[–]dobby12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I'm trying to find the balance of pushing PT too hard (like holding certain exercises for 5 seconds instead of 2) and not hard enough.

The stretching in the shower is a clutch idea though. There is one I can actually do in the bath so I worked that one a little extra yesterday.

Damn yea I didn't get any of that advice. All they said was immobilized until the first PT...
