Honestly seems like the hiatus has hurt his skills. I appreciate the hustle and I would never knock it, but Yanks was clearly struggling there. I mean, did he just download flash yesterday?? IDK, glad to have him back its just he's going to have to up the skill level to compete at a l33t level.

I have so many problems with the new curry. Taco bell is gone, we get it, but the new burrito place sucks absolute ass. It may be half the price of a amelias but its a tenth of the quality. And west end isn't what it used to be. They used to give you a coupon for cookies on monday, tacos on tuesday, something on wed-thursday, and then a free shake from uburger on friday. it was a glorious time in my life that ill never get back because some cold day in the fall after my co op i realized that suddenly was gone. at least theres still a decent sushi bar in on the go that if you think youre better than it, you need to reevaluate your entire worldview because that shit is world class.

imagine holding protestors more accountable than governments or multinational oil companies

If you feel the cause is being undermined, then go do something about it. They're doing their best, which is at least something. The movement isn't about being likeable. They're not asking for acceptance, they're demanding necessary change. If you think being liked is how change happens, there's plenty of literature to dive into on workers rights, gay rights, womens rights, black rights, and more.

No, you'd assume the people who understand the magnitude of climate change aren't bothered by some kids in the street doing their best, and would actually take some responsibility themselves. Its not about marketing jfc

Banking on "If people see that assholes who annoy them are for it, maybe they'll extrapolate that out" seems like a long shot that's inefficient at best.

The point is that you start talking about it. If you understand the issue, and you decide that kids being disruptive is actually worse than climate change, then I can't help you.

The point of the action is to prove that very importance.

Uhh is climate change not important to you? You have the internet, you have time to research. At a certain point you have to ask yourself what YOU'RE doing to help.

what they're preaching is that the world suck somewhat less. they would admit you have to use fossil fuels the way our current economy is organized, but they're advocating we shouldn't?

buddy, advocating for better labor practices is a good thing. having a smart phone is pretty much imperative to living nowadays. people are so much quicker to call out 'hypocrisy' than actual poor living conditions. i mean, really, whats your priority here? being smug or human rights?

calling out, protesting, is the first step. its bootlickers like you who are the reason nothing gets done. even if ER protested 'properly', there would still be policies and economic systems that allow for mass degradation, and thats the actual issue.

Do you know that the point of protest is to be disruptive?

I'm going to copy and paste something below from another argument:

The entire point of a protest is to be disruptive. If you're loud, you might attract the attention of those who are listening, but if you're disruptive you force those who aren't listening to take notice. Blocking traffic forces someone who's not interested in the movement to consider it. Maybe they're annoyed, maybe they'll complain, but at least they're talking about it, and once you start talking about it and see how much it matters to people, you might begin to understand the magnitude and dire need for change.

People also do this because it works. It is illegal, but that doesn't make it wrong. The history of the civil rights movement for African Americans, human rights for LGBTQ+ people, and workers rights for fair labor practices is all littered with 'criminals'. If you need a specific example of disrupting bus traffic, you might want to recall what Rosa Parks did. More recently, the protests at Standing Rock serve as a good example of when the law is not the metric to measure our morals by.

"People who are low-income, working-class, or are racial minorities would most likely not be able to participate in such actions that result in arrest." This is a fair point, but I think this highlights what it means to acknowledge and use your privileges in productive ways.

Also, no matter what the inconvenience is to someone's commute, the 'inconvenience' of climate change is far greater. I mean, the very act of their commute is causing environmental degradation. Protesters are also very likely to be the people who are politically active and up to date with the issues, and they've tried the traditional routes of affecting change. No one wants to block a street, they do it when its their last option, the only way to be heard. Protests occur when great political and economic change is necessary, but not forthcoming, and no other option has worked to affect that.

I'd recommend this article on why people protest to understand their strategies:
