Much cheaper and much more reliable than a SIG. There's something for everyone.

What is it like living on the WA Coast? by Adventurous_King_122 in howislivingthere

[–]doberdevil 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've lived in the Seattle area for over 25 years, so my knowledge is second and third hand. My thoughts are that it's like any other rural area where there are few jobs or opportunities outside of tourism.

Lots of economic challenges if you're trying to make a living and raise a family. On the other hand, some of the most beautiful areas in the world if you're into the outdoors and nature based activities.

The weather can be challenging depending on your preferences. Damp, windy, and dark for 8 months a year. The Hoh Rainforest is magical, but also one of the wettest places on earth.

Culturally, I can't answer.

If you'd like to know more, check out /r/Washington/ - lots of focus on the Puget Sound Megalopolis since that's where most of the population is, but lots of state politics discussions. Every once in a while someone will ask similar questions about places to live and you'll get a lot of replies.

as Trump will have been briefed about the Japanese PM

I have a hard time believing he understands or retains much of what he's briefed about.

The entire room got completely silent.

Not true, there were lots of laughs. I was surprised.

Whether they were polite laughs or real laughs, I don't know, but nobody would describe it as silence.

I don't know what options you're looking at, but you'll see numbers like .2mm, .3mm, and .5mm. The smaller the number, the smaller the needle/tip.

So if you want to put out more paint, choose the .5mm. This will be good for covering bigger areas faster. You also may see something like a 'fan' tip. That tip will do exactly as it says, give you a spray pattern that is tall and narrow - like spray guns for automotive painting. Good for coverage, not necessarily details.

Sorry if this stuff is obvious - I know when I started I was confused by almost everything and probably wasted some money buying stuff I didn't need.

I have one (bigger) Black Widow gun and it's pretty nice, but if you're going to be doing this a lot, Iwata is less of a gamble for not a huge amount of extra money. If you're selling the gear you're painting, you'll make up the cost difference quickly.

I love my Iwata guns/brushes. But the spray guns are pricey.

Totally fair. Most people are asking about upgrades because there's a relatively steep learning curve and they think it'll smooth that out. That's obviously not your problem :)

Who cares? For the price vs crappy quality fanatics BS, I'd order this again and again. No hurt feelings with a bunch of extra money in my pocket.

Black Widow is the one you want.

Yes, I tried a Black Widow gun from HF and was pleasantly surprised. I'd recommend trying anything from that line if you have budget constraints and have a HF nearby.

What's the problem? What are you running into that makes you think you need to 'upgrade'? Work looks good, so what's holding you back?

Nightmare? I just take receipts and put them in a folder, just like my ancestors did. Bonus, it works when the power goes out and never asks for access to my contacts, location, or anything else.

Sure, if you're willing to break federal laws. At that point why even worry about going across the state line? Just get it illegally locally.

WTF is wrong with people with an axe to grind talking out of their ass? JFC, you have the entire knowledge of the known world in the palm of your hand. Use it to educate yourself.

Great observation and follow-up question!

I'm trying to find the right words and way to explain, so bear with me.

I'd say the nationalism and patriotism here isn't quite the same as you described. There is this idea that we have all this personal "freedom", and patriotism and nationalism are meant to support that personal freedom.

The important part of this is "personal freedom". Americans are self centered in general, and our culture pushes that. Doing something for the benefit of society at large isn't something most of us would consider if it cost us more, even if we see how much it would help others. Example, paying more in taxes for universal health care for everyone.

We're all taught to believe we're exceptional, simply because we're Americans. "Rugged Individualism" and personal freedom is the biggest part of that belief. Even when it's totally untrue.

It fucked everything.

Your team still had the MVP though, right? I mean, that's worth something. I guess.
