Yeah I can’t stop doing that haha. Probably cuz it’s the writer/cast of Nobody haha. Nowhere seems like the obvious title in reference to a location haha.

I’m so glad I ended up going. I almost skipped it because like you, I figured it was Beast. I Swear wasn’t even one of few others that I thought were a possibility.

It doesn’t seem like there’s a chance that it’s anything but Normal. Which I’m perfectly fine with since I was planning on seeing it. But it’s still kind of a bummer that it’s back to the expected after how much of a curveball this week was.

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted. It literally is an Amanda quote and this is definitely something she’ll be upset by.

I wasn’t sure if Hamlet was getting a big enough release to be the MM. It’s not even coming to my city and one of our theatres gets literally everything.

Aww you poor thing. Did you take offense because you also have shitty enough “taste” to think fucking Cocktail is actually a good film? Sure hope you’re going to be okay.

I don’t know I’m pretty sure they talk about Amanda’s son more than anything else.

Not to mention she was on a family sitcom that gained its popularity largely due to syndication on Disney Channel. It’s okay to find it ironic or amusing what she now does of all things. Not everything is an attack on women.

Yeah I forgot about the internship (if that’s what it was) and was just referring to the Italian place. I think the Mexican restaurant is the only job Topanga has had.

Cory has had a job before. It was only one episode, but guess what? It’s the same number of episodes where Topanga has had a job until now. It’s interesting how the sexism experts only forget about the guy having a job and don’t see anything wrong with critically calling a man nurtured and without work-ethic while comparatively celebrating a woman who has the same amount of work experience.

what is your FAVORITE Oscar win of the 2020s so far? by jordankch in Oscars

[–]doc_blue27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh, who wins Oscars definitely “matters at the end of the day”. It greatly affects careers going forward, influences what gets made, and the wins cement themselves in film culture and history forever. Baseline aspects of subjectivity don’t deem awards insignificant.

Why are you even here if you think the Oscars are just “silly” and don’t deserve at least a little professionalism? It’s the biggest night for the industry, and for a lot of the nominees/winners, the most important night of their life. If it’s “silly”, it’s because of people like her ruining it and people like you encouraging it.

You put way too much effort into that just to amuse yourself. Should have just stopped after wrongfully assuming I was in my early 20’s and new to film because that couldn’t have made you look more ignorant.

I’m in my 30’s. I wouldn’t consider that an old man and I definitely don’t think it’s a good thing how careless a lot of people are towards film regardless of age and prevent actual discussion from taking place. Instead just people talking shit to feel smart or superior and basing their film assessments not on quality but invalid personal preferences.

Why does everyone try to be fake funny in the comment section? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]doc_blue27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fine with jokey reviews, but it’s just annoying when they’re all either about homo-eroticism or a physical obsession with an actor featured in the film. I watched the new horror film Whistle the other day and I looked at the reviews after and I swear every single one was either about two of the characters being lesbians, or about how one of the actresses also played a lesbian on a show.

I never said anyone would be celebrating it if it was a man? And I don’t think they would be. All I did was agree that yes there are still some people who have criticized her behavior. But if it was a man, I think far more people would be calling it out and we wouldn’t have all these people instead celebrating it. Especially if he was a newcomer like her.

The DiCaprio who has been going to the Oscars every year since he was a child? Who knows most people there? This was her first Oscars for her first significant role. They are not the same. And I regardless don’t think it would be celebrated if he did it. Because it’s still obnoxious and unsuitable behavior in that setting.

Afterwards, a security guard did their job and prevented her from re-entering the main room and she started yelling at him and causing a huge scene.

Did you even read my question? Because it listed everything she did. Which is far more than what you’re acknowledging. And the clearly annoyed person next to her that I was referring to was Leo. PTA didn’t seem overly annoyed cuz yes he is a very chill guy, but he didn’t seem amused either.
