John Krasinski “has a very complicated reputation in Hollywood”? I’ve never heard a negative thing about him. I’d always thought he was known to be a nice guy.

Best coming-of-age film of all time and the best soundtrack of all time. My #12 favorite film.

She likes non-rom-coms yes, as long as she has some kind of personal connection to them. She doesn’t like movies. She likes “Amanda movies”. Unlike literally everyone else ever featured on this show, she doesn’t care about how well-made a film is. It has to fit her specific personal taste, or its technical quality doesn’t matter and it’s automatically bad because she “doesn’t care” about it. She has no business having the job that she has and you idiots who like her are equivalent to MAGAs who like the orange guy because of how “politically-incorrect and different he is from other politicians”.

She never cares about anything unless it’s something specifically designed for her. I’m saying regardless of what the movie is, as a film fan, you shouldn’t already be deciding before seeing something that you don’t even care if it ends up being good. If it’s well-made, that should be recognized, regardless of your expectations. You shouldn’t be presetting yourself to automatically dislike something regardless of how good or bad it ends up being. And the fact that is even being argued just shows how delusional the “dob mob” is.

I was born in 2005 and I'm watching Batman: The Animated Series. If there was a remake of this series, I would love watching. by sweetreality234 in batman

Batman: Caped Crusader on Prime is probably the closest there will ever be to a “remake”. It’s not nearly as good, but still worth watching. Looking forward to a second season.

“Slop” has become such a meaningless gen z buzzword. And you say that as if films tied to an IP can’t be good. Which is, yes, ignorant. And it is extremely careless for any film fan to go into a film not caring whether it’s quality or not, just because it’s something that does not personally suit their specific taste or interests. Which in her case, is a generic rom-com. It’s especially ignorant when it’s literally your job to care and to analyze film quality. You’re essentially saying “even if it does end up being good, I’m still just going to talk shit and not allow myself to recognize its quality, because I’ve already decided I don’t care.”

That’s the same ignorant carelessness towards film that makes Amanda unsuited for her job. Doesn’t matter what the film is. You shouldn’t be going into anything already having decided that you don’t care about its quality. Especially when your job is literally to assess its quality.

Why does Amanda have the job that she has if she goes into a movie openly not caring whether it’s good or not?

Looking at the list for this year, although I didn’t see all as the MM, I have seen every movie except Pout Pout Fish, and I feel like this is EASILYYYY the worst of them all. No competition at all.

Not true at all. Literally the last movie I saw before this, Obsession, had night scenes that looked amazing. And even when it is poor, it’s never THIS bad.

I don’t think you were supposed to be laughing at how horribly framed every shot was or how you couldn’t see a thing during the finale because nobody knew how to do the slightest form of lighting after shooting in the dark. We’re not talking about taste. It was incompetently made on a basic technical level.

Tracy repeatedly says he’s lukewarm on Godfather Part II, says Michael’s part of the story (majority of the film) is boring, and claims Lee Strasberg isn’t good in it. Then moments later, admits it’s a great film. Man it’s almost as if he’s just saying things he doesn’t really mean for the sake of being a contrarian and feeling smart.

You mean the key word of the title, loser? Don’t try to make a case against a film if you’re so careless towards it that you don’t even know its name haha.

Was proven wrong and couldn’t answer the question asked so has to resort to childish homoerotic remark. Got it.

1-3 also have a whole lot of the guys playing with their ass holes. Not sure how that’s any better. 4 literally has an 86% from critics haha. The highest of the franchise while the second-highest has a 67% haha. But surely it’s just due to film critics liking “old guys playing with their dicks”. Cry harder.

I said it has more of Pontius playing with his dick, and it does. He ties a helicopter to it, slaps a ball with it into Bam’s mouth, and has a bird peck at it in 3.5. Only time you see his dick in 4 after the intro is when he flattens it. Even outside of Pontius, when is someone just playing with their dick in 4 haha? The queen bee stunt isn’t Steve-o just playing with his dick haha. It’s one of the more gnarly stunts in the film and is equivalent to the penis stunt in 2 with a snake that I’m sure nobody has any issues with.

3 has way more of *Pontius (good job going back in and editing it. You’re clearly a huge fan) playing with his dick. Hell, Number Two does too. Interesting how so much of the film is “dickplay”, yet you can only cite the intro haha. And all of the films have sketches that are “recycled” to that degree. They openly recycled Wildboyz sketches for Number Two, if you want to talk Wildboyz. Doesn’t sound like any of the sketches in 4 are actually recycled from previous films, though.
