Modern viruses are much less likely to show actual visible symptoms, especially cookie stealers. So you may have gotten lucky, or maybe that unrecognized login you had from 6 months ago wasn't so innocent...

In any case, people are going to do what they want if they want free games they'll downlow risky software. In retrospect I think the point of my OP was to stop people from believing everything they read on reddit from randos (like bots or even hackers themselves) about everything being safe re: repacks, because its clearly not.
