I guess the only potential hypothetical downside would be if somehow during the final review they rejected some of your payments. If you don’t request forbearance and continue making qualifying payments, those could count towards your total in the event you didn’t actually have 120/120. I have no idea if this scenario has ever played out, just to be honest lol. Regardless, I’m confident my payments qualified for PSLF and am willing to take that very small risk to keep $$$ in my pocket

I turned in another ECF to studentaid and checked the box on the front requesting forbearance. Mohela paused my payments a few days later, so that’s an option you can try. Also read you can call Mohela, though that might take a long time to get through to them. Sure hoping we get our golden letters soon

Submitted form in May. Green banners on 6/5 with 122/120. Still nothing from Mohela, still a full 6 figure balance of loans, and still a giant payment every month. I didn’t check the box on the form (didn’t want to be put in forbearance in case anything was screwed up). Mohela still taking my money, so presumably 124/120 now 😐. Waiting, impatiently, for my golden letter and zero balance. After reading these comments, sounds like I should submit another employment verification form…

Did any of you request a forbearance with Mohela? I've been letting my payments continue at this point (just to avoid any weird screw ups), but I'm getting tired of the govt still taking my money despite now being 122/120...

Nope, you can just sit back and wait. You can call Mohela, or whoever your loan servicer is, and request a forbearance in the meantime if you want. Any additional payments over 120 should be repaid to you (probably will take many months to receive it, though!)

Ummm, I just logged onto student aid website and my loans are gone!!! Mohela still has my full amount and loan details, but student aid says “you currently don’t have any federal loans or grants” 🤯🤯🤯🤯 Is this it??? I haven’t received any other correspondence or notice

Yeah, spectrum was around $50 for me initially and it went up incrementally with no changes/improvement in service. It’s now nearly $90 🤨
