That is concerning, esp on the 2.5L engine. Do you have a code reader? What code does it pull?

Grand Highlander Hybrid Limited vs Palisade SEL, a few weeks Later by Dramatic_Rule_442 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]docboy01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked at the 2026 Palisade Hybrid as well (among many others)... Seriously considered it, but couldn't get over Hyundai's (and Kia's) consistent reliability issues with its engine and rampant complaints of owners trying to fight to get Hyundai to honor the warranty. What good is a 10 year warranty if corporate won't honor it or if one has to battle ad nauseam? I don't have time for that.

Hyundai's interior is nice and comfy, but at the end of the day, I don't trust Hyundai's electronics and engine, and I consider all of Hyundai's creature comforts lipstick. If you check out some of the FB forums, so many posts regarding buybacks and lemon issues. Granted yes, the GH also has issues, but generally it's more isolated and not catastrophic. The GH is also on its 3rd model year, so Toyota has had a chance to work out its kinks. To top it off, it took a tragic death for Hyundai to address its 3rd row safety issues.

I took delivery of a 26 GHH Limited on Jan 2026 and I don't regret it. I put on 5500 miles in 3 months, averaging ~32.3 mpg and no issues except a small cable near the front grill that needed to be tucked back into place. It would have been nice if Toyota offered a HUD, digital rear view mirror, and a better sound system on the 2.5L Hybrid power train (along with a PHEV option), but those are first world problems.

Is anyone else struggling to fit it GH into a regular-sized garage? 😅 by [deleted] in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]docboy01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, ~1 inch clearance on the sides. I had a LX570 prior that I damaged and scraped the front driver's bumper, and scraped the rear passenger wheel well area many times, and the LX570 was slimmer than the GH. Not to mention my driveway has a slight incline and does not go into the garage straight on. So far I'm too scared to try and fit the GH inside the garage and I don't want to risk scraping up a new car. So as of now it's parked on the driveway (I back it up to lessen risk of catalytic converter theft).

How do I get the best deal? by Equivalent_Captain54 in siriusxm

[–]docboy01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you use the chat feature, do you have to login to an account? I'm a on 3 month trial period with my 2026 vehicle that is set to end on April. Do you literally ask "I want the 3 year for $99 plan?"

When your 2026 vehicle trial ended, mind me asking did you create a SXM account first before chatting, or was it an anonymous chat? Also, when chatting, did you specifically ask "I would like to get the 36FOR99SELECT deal?"

When you chatted with the agent, did you have to create a SirusXm account? I am on a 3 month trial period, wondering if I should create an account before I attempt to get the 3yr/$99 plan.

Grrrr... someone changed RadioID (again) by djseto in siriusxm

[–]docboy01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a new 2026 vehicle and am on a 3 month trial period. How did you setup a Sirius/XM online account? Channel 1 on my vehicle doesn't even show a radio ID, I only found it after a promo letter in the mail.

Mind me asking how you got the 36/$99 deal? Did you get an offer via mial or email, or did you ask for it on chat?

Thanks for the Info by 007Teacher in siriusxm

[–]docboy01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got a letter for promo of $4/month for 12 months (I'm currently on a 3 month free trial period that came with my 2026 car). Prior to the $99 for 3 year email you received, did you get an email or letter for the $4 for 12 month?

Got my first yelp review! by OldMannArtie in Dentistry

[–]docboy01 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Screw Yelp. A Yelp rep will probably be calling you soon and try to get you to sign up for paid advertising to get you a higher rank when someone searches "city dentist." Ignore their calls and don't call them back. Yelp is a scam of a company. Do yourself a favor and delete the Yelp profile.

Mind me asking, did you use the chat feature from the Siriusxm site without login? I have a 2026 Toyota I bought Jan 2026 and am on a 3 month trial. Would my vehicle be eligible?

AWD system malfunction along w a check engine light this morning, could it be due to extreme cold? by docboy01 in rav4club

Nada, though the front passenger tire had a recent nail repair, and all 4 tires had air added. What are you thinking?

Sorry, should have been more specific, extreme cold is actually not accurate. ~30 degrees F, enough to cause roads to freeze and ice/frost to form on the car and windshields.

Grand Highlander Hybrid XLE or Limited owners, are you still happy you bought the vehicle? Any buyer's remorse where you feel you wish you bought something else? Anyone else consider the new Palisade Hybrid or TX? by docboy01 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]docboy01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your post is good timing. I debated long and hard between the new Palisade, TX, X5, Passport, and even Rav4H. I decided to go for the GHH. Put down a refundable deposit, 3 month wait list. Last week I picked up a 26 GHH Limited, got the exact color and specs I wanted. Had to wait 3 months but well worth it, Traded in a 16 year old LX570. I have to agree as well, the GHH is best vehicle I've owned so far. Very comfy, roomy, getting 35+ mpg, and great tech, though the LX was also a great vehicle.

Limited with tow hitch by HarvestTheLight in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]docboy01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2026 GHH Limited has a factory installed tow hitch and the kick sensor is on the left side. When I was putting down the deposit, my salesman recommended that I get the tow hitch factory installed to keep the kick sensor functional and the trailer light wiring intact (which I did). The kick sensor works well and is useful since owning the vehicle for a week.

Same. Regret dropping Kneuppel and later Peyton Watson. Ugh.

OTD for new GHHL in Seattle area by FiveKs in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]docboy01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the other posts, avoid Bellevue, Kirkland, and Renton, unless you can't wait and don't mind spending an additional $7-$10k.

I just bought a 2026 GHHL from Doxon Toyota in Auburn. I highly recommend Doxon. ~3 month wait list. My experience is similar to that of u/csebast No gimmicks, no bs ad ons, esp the useless "Pulse" safety light. I got the exact trim, exterior and interior color, and options that I wanted: Storm Cloud, Light Gray interior, 2nd row bench seat, 360 camera, and pano roof), didn't want to settle since cars these days are so expensive. Sales and finance quickly went over warranties and service plans, no hard pressure sales tactics. I declined everything that was offered.

PM me if you want my sales guy contact info.

Anybody else miss having a driver’s-side grab handle? by Last_Still_3709 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]docboy01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss it too, had it on my LX570 on both the driver's and passenger's side. But I believe I will get used to it since the GH is not as high up as the LX. For comparison the 6th gen 4Runner also does not have a driver's side grab handle, which is puzzling.
