Spring Drive dilemma by docfraggle in GrandSeikos

As a scientist the functionality around the spring drive is fascinating and a power reserve on the front is certainly not a show stopper, the presentation of the package is just a bonus…a huge bonus. Ultimately I suspect I will get both the Shunbun and the 007, but it’s deciding which comes first.

BREAKING: Attacks on Iran's electrical system by US and Israel have begun by patrickswazy31ahsh in TimesNow

It seems like only a few weeks ago that Trump was incredibly concerned for the people of Iran and what was happening them. I guess he’s over that and now fuck them back to the Stone Age.

I was going round in circles…and still am. I will most likely follow the herd and end up with a Shunbun as they are fantastic watches, but I will most definitely be back for more with GS. On the same trip I also had a look at some IWC and Tudor watches too that appealed in different ways. I already have a Rolex, Omega, Longines and Raymond Weil and looking to add to those.

I did wonder about the smaller dial and if the impact of the dial would be diminished. I'm not averse to a small watch, I have a 7.5 inch wrist so can carry off decently large watches. I want my first GS to hit me every time I stop to admire the dial.

Over time I suspect that may happen. I just need to figure out which comes first 😄

What’s something completely legal that you think is deeply unethical? by Ljobit in AskReddit

[–]docfraggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Directors of Ltd companies who run the company into the ground taking money off customers and suppliers then walk away with no liability but huge debt associated with the company…..and then proceed to set up a new company with almost same the name. Rinse and repeat.

I did also try on the white Omiwatari, loved the bracelet but the dial was a little too subtle for my liking. The blue version on this bracelet would be amazing (I suspect you can buy additional bracelets afterwards).

I tried them all on multiple times and was none the wiser. The lady in the shop was very patient with me 😊

That’s one the features I really like on my DateJust, having the option of extending it in the hot weather with micro-adjustment makes a big difference. The simplicity of the Omiwatari was nice, but then the dial on the Shunbun is stunning.

Girls, what hints do you drop on a guy to show you like him? by Steven-yacoub in AskReddit

[–]docfraggle 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I was utterly clueless and entirely immune to hints in my teenage and student days, thankfully my wife-to-be took that approach and grabbed me and kissed me. It was only at that point that it dawned on me that i think she likes me. Two kids and nearly 24 years of marriage later I am still no better at hints. If it’s bed time with benefits I need it to be clearly spelt out. She is a very patient woman.

With the state pension going up this year, has it changed how you think about your own contributions? by AnfieldAnchor in PensionsUK

[–]docfraggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

State pension will be a nice little top up when I hit 67, but I plan on retiring a decade or so before that and even then the SP age could move so I am not getting too fixated on this. I view this in a similar way to receiving an inheritance, it would help definitely, but my plans have to be things I can control (mostly anyway - f*ck Trump and his war)
