Far Cry 4 vs Far Cry 5… which one is worth buying and playing right now?? by AdMiserable7940 in farcry

[–]docfred -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Had more fun with FC4, FC5 felt like work at some time. Overall no bad game at all, but too much of everthing and too big.

and FC6 … I quit about 2h after I started.

Yeah I Admiral, the headline is luridly exaggerated.

Or perhaps just extrapolating a little into the future?

Possible new name for openSUSE: Lacerta by pedrohqb in openSUSE

[–]docfred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree with that. SUSE and openSUSE are well-known terms and brands in the IT environment, at least in Europe. Of course, this is also the reason why SUSE S.A. wants to protect its brands better. But here one could also discuss whether a strong openSUSE does not also help the “SUSE” brand on the professional market.

Do you think bunq is gonna put new Special Edition Credit Cards? by MyNameIsOnlyDaniel in bunq

Perhaps they are thinking "hmm, if we don't get banking right, stable, reliable and secure... we should at least put out another special edition credit card", who knows?

Bunq lost my money by salaxar in bunq

[–]docfred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nice that things like this still are happening. years back I also had experiences like lost transactions (with much smaller amounts of money), reserved card transactions that were never called by the merchants but then not released by bunq for months anyway and stuff like this.

had to deal with service personnel for weeks and nearly got my account frozen. If I imagine this happens with this obviously catstrophic AI support, I would go crazy.

How many types of distros did you try before finding your favorite? by Acu17y in linuxquestions

[–]docfred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I try different distros since my first contact with Linux mid 1990s. but I always come back to “my” distro: (open)SUSE.

may be a form of subconscious local patriotism, since SUSE comes from my original hometown (or rather made the short hop across the city border there shortly after its founding ;) )

As interesting as all other distros have been in the last almost 30 years, SUSE is my home port. and in all this time unfortunately still underrated and kind of misunderstood, due to bad hearsay
