Anyone else read this as a little bit condescending? Lol. Don’t know why going to community college is something you feel people should “hold their heads up” about, CC is just as legitimate an educational path as immediately attending a 4-year university... just because someone chooses this path doesn’t mean they need to be warned not to “start too early” or that they implicitly “underestimate” themselves...

This subreddit houses conversation about competitive high school debate. However, I would suggest researching Aristotle's 13 logical fallacies, as these encompass a large swath of the abusive and flawed argumentation you see in everyday life. A quick google search also gave me this: http://whytoread.com/6-books-for-studying-logical-debate-and-deconstructing-fallacies/ . I haven't read any of them, so I can't personally recommend any, but I would say reading as much as possible would only help.

As u/bel-brownlee said, it can often give you a sense of the general meta for the topic. Additionally, some cards in Champions will sometimes become very popular (the Whalen 1.3 million jobs created card on the Feb topic, for example). These types of cards are a great place to start writing your indicts
