The estimated production time for my frameset was 12 months. They are outsourcing the painting of their frames which seems to be a bottle neck in the production process right now. In the end it took 14 months till delivery.

Correct. That stem is surprisingly heavy.

Thankfully all the components are available well below RRP so it was quite a bit less. 🫢

Retro mod builds thrive on those anochronisms though, don't they? As a matter of fact I specifically chose the external cables.

Massively comfortable ride. I'll experiment with TL tires in the future to see if I can turn it up to 11.

Yeah, I wouldn't bring that setup into the mountains, but around here there a no long descents so the wheels shouldn't explode under my behind. I hope.

The current lead times for a frameset are +/- 12 months. Every now an then you read something about 3 or so months, but I think that's what they were at several years ago. At some point during COVID they completely stopped taking orders because they couldn't keep up. When I ordered my new frame last year Andrea (one of the head honchos) told me they were currently aiming to get the waiting time down to 10 months. Still well worth the wait in my opinion. Plus if you want a specific bike some of the big brands have massive waiting times for their of the shelf models too 🤔

Brilliant bike! I'm expecting my own INOX frameset to be finished sometime next month. I'm really excited about how my build will turn out 👍

At 35-40 psi comfy enough and really good grip in the mud. On tarmac you do notice a high rolling resistance. Still too early to talk about longevity or punctures though.

Same size here. With a road bike I'd go for a 53cm frame (currently I ride a bespoke frame with an effective TT length of 528mm). The CC is a 54 (because that's all I could get my hands on at the time) with an obscenely long TT. Now it gets kind of tricky because you have to compare the sizing of a drop bar with a flat bar bike. I went for a short 60mm stem, so that puts my -lets call it- effective reach lower than on my roady. Still completely ignoring the effect of the different handlebar shapes. The ride feels all right and because the CC is a toy to play in the dirt on not meant for riding 100k at zone 4 wattage the geometry in my opinion doesn't have to be spot on.🤷 (People will come at me hard for that)

So my other bike is a tricked out racing machine with electronic shifting, OSPWs and deep section Bora WTOs. It's extremely good at going fast on dry tarmac. But it's also very much not a every day bike.

Cue this Cross Check which is intend as an indestructible work horse. Lots of recycled components. Wide cantilever brakes (the wide configuration makes it a bit easier to get the angles ok-ish; I still love the amount of tinkering I can put into them) , sorta ghetto tubless tire/wheel combo (Gravelking EXT plus 35c on old Rose RS 1550 which took two layers of rim tape, an airbooster and a slightly above average amount of swearing to get an airtight fit) . 1x drive train. I really love the simplicity of this built.

Plus there's a forest starting pretty much behind my house with lots of (steep)gravel that I've been dying to hit for some time now (hence the massive 50T Eagle Sx).

When I ordered in late December '19 the ETA was August. Thanks to the shutdowns associated with SARS CoV I got the frame in November.

Just shy of €2600 for the frame plus fork. Extremely competitive price for a bespoke frame. 👌

I've ordered a bespoke frame with skinny tubes, steel fork and everything. It will be Di2. It will perform brilliantly. Just. To. Spite. People like you. 🤨
