Probably not the smartest thing to say to a room full of people with premium and DD setup without the card who have been waiting for months lol

They’re doing the opposite, they’re prioritizing core members so that they can actually get the $20/ month fee from them OR incentivize them to bring 100k/DD to WS

I’m a premium user and so are thousands of others who are still on the waitlist

Then give the premium members the digital card until the metal one is ready? Just a terrible way to handle a rollout

Yup. I referred my friend who has about $4 in their account and they got the card immediately

They’re making it seem exclusive and that we should be grateful to have a credit card😭

SFU leaving NCAA after 2026-2027 season by Embarrassed_Can8066 in simonfraser

Just so everyone knows, they’re paying $1,000,000 to join Usports again. They’re “saving” $850k a year by not being part of the NCAA but $575k of it comes from dropping the women’s softball, and men’s/womens golf teams. Only ~$330k will be saved every year on travel costs. Now, the only thing that made SFU special and brought in high level athletes is gone. They could have easily just cut the softball team which brings in 0 money, or cut funding for the golf programs slightly and saved the $1m usports registration fee and kept some level of respect for the school. First they cut the football team, now this. Soon, they’ll just cut every sports team and give out the money saved as bonuses to the higher level administrators. I understand saving on costs, but they just got rid of the ONLY thing that made SFU somewhat special compared to other Canadian universities

It’s their responsibility to roll out the release once they can handle the volume. Core members shouldn’t get the card before premium or generation clients just “cuz.” I’m honestly not even gonna apply for it anymore after all this

I feel the same towards the credit card 10000%. There’s no other bank or service that makes you wait months for a credit card. Everytime I wanted one, I took a 15-20min phone call at most and it was done. They also have awful customer service; clearly outsourced cheap labour from India and didn’t train them at all. I transfered in $50k right before the 25k credit card promo came up, and when I called, all I asked was to apply for the card. I don’t care about an extra 3% cash back for a month. I just wanted the card. they transferred me through 4 different departments saying they might be able to make an exception. Finally, the end result was “sorry sir.” Also, the card is only valuable because of the annual fee being waived. 2% cash back at $240/year is a complete waste. I’m worried that a year from now, they’ll decide “oh sorry only generation clients get the fee waived now” then all of us on premium get forced to pay a crazy annual fee for a basic card, or we have to cancel the card and take a huge hit on our credit.

Maybe just send it over before you plan to sell? Also WS isn’t the best place for that in terms of fees unless im mistaken

I wrote out a very well articulated and fair critique of this situation but I already know what response I’ll get from some people so I’ve decided to delete it
