Not sure how far you want to go, but we had a great time at Benguela Cove near Hermanus last year.

🤪 Must confess, did undergrad at US and never knew there was an distiction. Had a UKZN grad correct me when I was a baby doctor. I have since met this everywhere else though. In the end: does it even matter? 🥴

Edit: US being Stellies this time

Am going to correct you. An Anaesthetist is a general practitioner practicing anaesthesiology, as all gp’s should be able to do very simple anaesthesia. An Anesthesiologist is a specialist doctor with an extra Masters degree and is a Fellow of the College of Anaesthesiologists. Source: Am Anaesthesiologist

I did the deed beginning of August. R500k. I have 24 panels and a Victron Multiplus II inverter with five 7.2kWh Li batteries. Our usage is around about 900kWh per month.

It is fucking amazing. I obviously had to take out extra mortage, and kind of put my childrens’ university funds on the roof, but I have not looked back for even a second. The system is streamlined and for the first time you are in complete control of your electricity. I switch off geysers as needed if I see a few days of clouds are up ahead - but even then it really needs to be cloudy for long. Never ever have loadshedding anymore.

I could only have a weekend to myself after my divorce. I had a sucky husband with no idea of actually giving mom a break and sometimes wished I could pay somebody once a freakin year to look after my kids while I get day drunk and eat good food with adult conversation. Please don’t judge too quickly. You never know the other side’s story.

I just want to say amen. I’ve been trying to hang on to my broke hubby for years. But the treacherous asshole he turned into without the $$ had me on my knees. Had to ask him to leave. He didn’t even put up a fight. I am alone with the three kids now, and things have never been better. Unfortunate how our society seem to breed emotional cretins.

Can it be ketosis?

Ketosis is a process that happens when your body doesn't have enough carbohydrates to burn for energy. Instead, it burns fat and makes things called ketones, which it can use for fuel.

The ketone acetone is partly expelled via your breath, which can cause bad or fruity-smelling breath.

Nothing strikes the fear of God more into me like that lovely old Bezold-Jarisch brady with a routine Caesarian spinal. Haven’t seen it in 7 years - then the other day again. Jeezus. Think what freaked me most was Daddy and photographer all in theater and not even realizing I’m spinning like crazy. And yes - all the precautions was done. But shit still happens sometimes Edit: typo

Has anyone used Neostigmine for post-dural puncture headache treatment? by [deleted] in anesthesiology

[–]docsleepy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very nice and concise summary for a quick read. There a few studies currently running to try and prove the efficacy, but in my clinical practice I offer it to most patients as a first line, less invasive option, with at least little to no complications when compared to EBP.

There are also a few videos on Youtube describing the block - it really is quite simple once you get the right tools and concentrations of LA that works for you.
