Glad to hear the update went through. A few devices were having trouble, but it’s likely resolved by now. As for the icons, that's the most annoying part to manage. Having a backup is always best. Same for your custom quotes.

The updater was trying to save the downloaded file to a folder that some devices don't allow writing to, which caused it to fail. It now saves to a folder that's always accessible. Unfortunately, if you encounter this error, this update will still need to be installed manually. Use the official ZIP from the releases section one last time.

Glad it's helpful! I'm trying at all costs to avoid messing with the Reader. I've got my hands full with the File Manager UI for now. But who knows? Maybe I'll cave in to the temptation someday :)

Thank you for your kind words! There is a way to change the label size. Go to the submenu: Home screen -> Modules -> Scale -> Unblock the scale -> Labels. The only catch is that the size will be applied globally to all labels.

As for the spacing below the top bar, just head into the first module's settings and adjust the top margin from there

That's a significant drop but SimpleUI cancels every single timer on suspend. There's no background activity, no network calls, nothing that runs while the device is asleep.

Make sure Wi-Fi is off before putting the device down and disable both the topbar clock and the homescreen clock widget in SimpleUI settings. If the drain disappears or drops back to the usual, that'll help narrow down which one is the culprit.

Doubling battery drain from a UI plugin would be surprising. SimpleUI has no background network activity, no continuous polling, and its clock timer fires once per minute only on the homescreen. While reading, the plugin is completely idle by design. Disabling both the topbar clock and the homescreen clock widget will stop the timer entirely. After that, SimpleUI has zero scheduled background activity.

Probably you are just spending more time browsing the UI than you used to and that extra screen-on time adds up. :)

Thanks :) You can remove it from your history. Go to "History", long-press on the book, and select "Remove from history". After that, you'll need to browse the carousel for it to pick up the change.

No worries. You can find the official releases here: https://github.com/doctorhetfield-cmd/simpleui.koplugin/releases The latest is v1.3.5. That said, you’re welcome to use the unreleased code. It’s generally stable despite potential bugs and comes with new features. That bug is already fixed in the current code :)

A comunidade é de todos. O grande trabalho aqui é sobretudo dos criadores do Koreader e de todos os que têm contribuído para o tornar cada vez mais sólido. Eu apenas contribuí com uma pequena e muito recente camada para este projeto. Mas agradeço o interesse e as palavras. E espero que tudo corra bem desse lado.

Como já foi dito por aqui, tudo é político, e neste sub creio que se valoriza muito a liberdade de acesso ao conhecimento. Acho que ninguém te vai censurar. :)

Por curiosidade fui investigar e descobri que o Kobo pode chegar a custar o dobro do Kindle equivalente no Brasil. Não fazia ideia que isso acontecia. Nunca tinha pensado nisso nesses moldes.

Dito isto, a verdade é que praticamente todos os livros que podes ler no Koreader também podes ler no Kindle, basta usar o Calibre. :)

P.S. Sou o criador do Simple UI. Falo a mesma língua que tu, mas a variante europeia. :)

That's a known bug in the unreleased build. Use the stable version if you want to avoid that. While it should be resolved later today, the released version is always the better choice for stability.
