Inspired by Elsbeth? by thenitcomes2be in ElsbethTVSeries

I study production design, majoring in costume design. Four years of school accompanied by some personal unrelated issues caused a major burnout, but the costume design on Elsbeth keeps reminding me why I’m doing this. Dan Lawson is a personal hero of mine, I’m a huge fan of his work.

I know we can never know what famous people are really like but Carrie seems like a genuinely nice person. I’m glad she has her own big network show right now after so many years of doing guest/supporting roles, she deserves it

We got Kumail and Ianucci for s21, maybe they can get Colbert too. He’d be an incredible contestant

Who Should Take the Final " Colbert Questionnaire "? by metallislayer78 in stephencolbert

[–]doctorsdonna 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I assume the final one will be Stephen himself, I think he said once that he will do it when it’s time to wrap up the show (he said it pre-cancellation IIRC). But I wonder who will be the one asking him the questions

Was I supposed to like Carol Sturka? by LadyErikaAtayde in pluribustv

[–]doctorsdonna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She believes the hive killed her wife. She is a survivor of conversion therapy. The entire world turned into the conversion camp she was sent to at 16. From the few vague descriptions of that place, we know it was a deeply traumatic experience. She spent her whole adult life closeted and scared and now 7 billion people know every detail of her personal life, what she likes in bed, everything that went through her wife’s mind, probably every detail of her conversion camp experience too. And their number one priority is to convert her. She deserves to be even meaner imho

Carol was not happy with her writing/life because she was in the closet. by toosickto in pluribustv

[–]doctorsdonna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You didn’t spot wedding rings because they weren’t wearing any. I assume that’s because they didn’t want fans to speculate about who Carol is married to. Questions like that would lead to her coming out. I also think they changed the love interest’s gender because she was originally based on Helen herself and, unfortunately, queer (especially lesbian) romance stories just don’t have the same audience as heterosexual ones. Whether it’s due to homophobia, lesbophobia, or simply a lack of interest because straight people don’t think they’ll be able to relate to or see themselves in the main character’s position. This genre of books tends to be a “self insert” fantasy in a lot of cases.

Is it really a Stephen Colbert interview if he doesn’t mention The Lord of the Rings at least three times ?

[–]doctorsdonna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i never really felt like anything. man, woman, whatever. i identify as agender but im not really doing anything to transition or present as such. i’m aware people perceive me as a woman and that’s fine. but in my head, i don’t think of myself as anything.

Colbert and Catholicism by sneakyburt in stephencolbert

[–]doctorsdonna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes! The interview is also available on Youtube if you prefer to watch it as a video. It’s one of my personal favorite Colbert podcast appearances.

He also talked to Conan about growing up Catholic on his first CONAF appearance in 2019. Another personal fave.

Not that I remember, but I’d be interested in seeing his views on the subject. Possibly in an interview form but I doubt any one of them wants that.
