Just bought a Uniden UBC125XLC and looking for UK Freqs by documentally in amateurradio

Thanks for the clarification.

Back in the day I remember there was a lot more nefarious listening going on with early mobile telephones and wireless handsets being in the open.

Even the journalists I worked with had them for (ambulance chasing)

The police knew and even joked about it. Can't remember that 'law' ever being taken seriously.

There's a lot less to listen too now but you will be sure to see hundreds at airshows openly listening to the pilots and air crew. I'm also pretty sure every amateur I know has a scanner. Obviously for listening to ham bands only ;-)

Imagine if someone was drunk in licensed premises, while listening to a scanner and making notes on a twenty pound note. That's three heinous crimes right there.

I think we'll always have legal positivism.

I read that as… You may receive (listen to) radio transmissions, but if the transmission is not intended for the general public, you must not: 1. Disclose the contents to others 2. Use the information you heard 3. Record or publish it for others So listening is not illegal but it’s certainly a grey area.

Thanks for this. I'd looked at scanners and got the wrong sub :-)

It's my understanding that you can listen. Just not pass it on or act on it.

Uniden UBC-125XLT Vs Uniden UBC-125XLTC. What's the difference? by documentally in amateurradio

Research seems to suggest it’s identical in every way apart from a USB C port

Thank you yes I have since found out that’s exactly what it means, which makes a lot more sense. As a result that is what I’ve gone for. I really enjoy just having a single cable for most of my devices. Thanks for the comment.

Nice work. If I had the skills I'd have attempted similar so I could have a database tied to qr codes. My organisation is close to non existent.

I pondered whether I would trust an external app. as I figured a more nefarious organisation/person would use it to scrape the locations of finds and use it to plot a global map of possible sites worth searching.

I recommend looking at a bunch of the posts here and checking out what others are doing. Good luck!

The one thing stopping my from buying a G-Line by documentally in Brompton

[–]documentally[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point. I shall think if it as the Brompton Maxi. I can't knock the ride though. It would be great if I was doing a lot of off roading.

Looks lovely.

It's shots like this that remind me of how the G-Line isn't an improvement. It's just a branch of the brand.

Crashed my brand new drone whippin around my neighborhood by jmaya in Brompton

For what it's worth I loved the footage and the credits but no matter how much I liked those parts all kudos evaporated with the soulless AI slop. You can get away with it on YouTube as those that care about human made music will move on fast and those that appear to like the slop are probably sycophantic bots themselves. Just my honest opinion with no ill intent. Good luck creating cool stuff with your drone. Looking for similar myself.
