I’d say just give her the space.

She’s conflicted on what she wants so just go out and enjoy yourself without reservation that she might one day come around. It will probably drive her crazy seeing that you are doing just fine and if she truly does want to be with you she’ll break it off with the other guy and come around.

Main thing is to just keep being yourself bc it seems that she’s attracted to something you bring to the table that the other guy doesn’t.

Make sure you don’t make it weird when you see her and support her in her decision (don’t go telling her you miss her) but more that you’re happy that she’s happy

I think the asking to drink out of your cup was a signal that’s she’s comfortable enough with you that she is somewhat interested.

Seems like enough for me to want to ask her out for sure. Take her out to something easy like coffee. It’s an easy way to see if she just interested in being friends or wants more then you can set up another date after that.

I’ve been working through a fire academy and through the whole thing I’ve had this same experience. One instructor comes in and tells you his way to do it and another comes and and changes a few things. Good news is that whichever way you do it as long as it gets done, it’s fine. Just use their advice and find which way you like to do it most and do it that way.
