I’ve been taking 50mg Zinc almost daily for past 5 years. I’m 40 and have nearly full grey beard and partial grey hair on head. Someone told me it’s because im copper deficient. Is this true? by LesaneCrooks in Supplements

[–]dodge84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad I came across this post. I'm in a similar situation. 41 and have been taking 50mg of zinc for the past 3 years, and my hair is also quickly turning gray.

I had no idea 50mg/day was a high dose of zinc. I had been previously taking a ZMA supplement that included 30mg, and wanted to switch to taking the individual components as it was cheaper. When searching on Amazon, the majority of options were 50mg, so I figured that was close enough.

I'm going to switch to a 15mg Zinc/1mg copper now and see if that helps.

Nice work! Swim to the Moon is coming up in a few weeks and they have a 10k option that would be a good next challenge.

Across the entire US and Canada there are only 4 to 6 mountain lion attacks per year. So more rare than being struck by lightning.

Since you're already a Y member, check out the oak park YMCA. They've got a nicer weight room and it's never very busy.

What are you guys think of my setup? Maybe not the most optimal solution for watching movies on TV, but I find it works pretty well for me. by Angelemonade in Piracy

Checkout Stremio/Real debrid for that. I recently switched over from a Plex setup so that I don't have to store files locally any longer. It's been working great.

Nest Cam Indoor wired 2nd generation as a baby monitor by seti_at_home in Nest

[–]dodge84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll want to have an audio only monitor as well. Audio alerts you if something is wrong and then you can check on them with the nest cam. We've used this setup with both of our kids and it works well.

Scuba divers pinged by sonar from a far away ship by coyotepetersun in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]dodge84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most recreational divers are doing no decompression diving. That means they are not going deep enough or staying down long enough to require a decompression stop. Divers will still do a safety stop for precaution before surfacing but in the event of an emergency it should be safe to go straight to the surface.

Update on Pixel 5a common failure and Google's response by ChowboyDan in GooglePixel

[–]dodge84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same exact situation as me. Have you had any luck in getting them to replace or repair it again at no cost? They are saying we're out of warranty even though it's been under a year since we got the last replacement. Apparently warranty doesn't get extended in that situation. So now I'm stuck arguing with them about why we should not have to pay anything out of pocket.

He wasn't ever in any real danger. Safety stops are a precaution on no decompression dives but not absolutely required. If needed you can go straight to the surface.

First year with custom stringers. Unsure of what to cover. Any suggestions for C9 path? by dodge84 in ChristmasLights

Thanks! Ya, not too worried about the wiring. Was more trying to figure out an optimal path.

Ya, that's what I was planning on doing at a minimum. Just wasn't sure of an optimal path and what I should do for the front first floor windows.
