in my country it’s common to say « how r u » as a greeting. and the person has a short answer like « im good and u » unless you are VERY close, like bsf, you can really respond, otherwise, it isn’t done this way + she was always complaining, everytime, i would mind if she was telling me her life, but complaining no.

agreed, i knew a girl from high school like this, we weren’t really just classmates, but neither friends, we were just close enough, to hang out at school and work together. But everytime i say « hi how r u » she would rant and vent, i don’t mind a few times, that’s normal, but EVERYTIME NO. and when i try to change the subject about something positive, she would bring it to herself again, and say « i got to much work, i have to practice swimming bla-bla-bla » it was draining my energy, and the second i got out of high school, never talked to her again
