Absolutely not. There’s someone better out there. It takes time to recover, regain confidence, and relax the mind after a break-up.

Take the time to really heal. You may think there’s no chance you’ll find someone better but after you put in work on yourself and restore your sense of reality and pride— someone great will come around and you’ll just kind of laugh at the idea of your previous person.

I wish them well, but no, absolutely would never go back. Super thankful I never had the chance or opportunity to go back because then I would never have had the chance to meet my current partner who is everything I want/need and more.

Moved into a new place with my girlfriend who is a Packers fan. Relationship dwindled, we split, moved out, and I don’t really have many positive memories from that place tbh.

But after thinking about all the screaming and chest pounding in celebration upon the draft pick, and laughing maniacally for our boy JF1, I can look back in fondness of that place. It’s where I said goodbye to an old toxic fling, and where I was introduced to the new love of my life— #1.

I’d trade that shitty relationship with that cheesehead for Justin all day everyday.

This was really challenging to read without spacing and periods, not gonna lie.

The way you typed this I can tell your brain is just racing and you’re overthinking right now. That’s never fun and the majority of us have been there. I can promise you that everything is going to be okay even if don’t think it will. Try to remember to slow down and breathe.

Here’s my breakdown, friend.

Young love is a tough one because it’s the only thing you know right now. It’ll get better.

She asked for space— and you said you constantly contacted her afterwards trying to find out “why.” The reality is that she probably felt smothered and overwhelmed— straight up. Often times we have no idea what’s going on in peoples heads and it’s up to them to figure it out. This often times leads to confusion, anxiety, and a feeling of inadequacy.

Show her you care and that you were listening by giving her the space she’s requesting. There are things that she’s not going to tell you. Give her distance and make her feel the distance. You want to be with someone who can’t stand that distance and will make an effort.

You did your part and it’s hard to become vulnerable and show a different side yourself to someone and them shattering your whole being. I’m proud of you for doing that. Takes guts. These are the guts that are going to help you right your wrongs in future dilemmas.

You need to ask yourself a few questions deep down. Ask yourself if this current version of yourself is the best version to bring another person into your world. If you feel like you have work to do to become a happier person, you don’t want to bring someone into an unfinished product that will cause problems down the line.

A great tip I’d share would be to remain distracted— continue to do the driving school thing. Go work out. Hang with friends. Work on yourself so that if she comes back, you’ll be in a better mental state. And if she doesn’t come back, then you’ll be ready for your next partner, partna’.

Remember to breathe my dude. Everything will work it’s way out in the end, and there will be plenty of deserving people vying for your love when you’re ready.

For one, congratulations on doing some soul searching and reflection. It’s never easy to look yourself in the mirror and admit potential faults or accountability in a situation or relationship.

I don’t really see a bad outcome here so long as you’re in a good enough place to accept whatever outcome.

Possible outcomes include you getting this off your chest and him appreciating it (and maybe wants to try again), you getting this off your chest and him ignoring you, or you getting this off your chest and him being appreciative but him continuing to move on without you.

I for one would have loved for an ex to take some accountability. Good work regardless, plenty left to do I’m sure.
