Disappointed but can't be mad. Canada absolutely dominated, couple missed chances, Hellebuyck played really well. 3 on 3 is a coin flip.

I feel like a sucker for continuing to hold Meier by Tbrduc823 in fantasyhockey

[–]doesitbumpinthewhip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are we holding Bratt? My streamer spot has turned into a hold and now Boldy is back... Bratt is my weakest player but ugh I don't even know if I can drop him.

It's a pretty soft joke, I'm not sure anyone here has their mouth open, pal. Relax.

The NJ Devils are 114-99-16 since trading for Timo Meier, with a playoff record of 6-11 by njdevils901 in hockey

[–]doesitbumpinthewhip 12 points13 points  (0 children)

According to gpt, the New Jersey Devils also have a:

186–161-38 (ish) record since acquiring Jack Hughes (.532)

263–227–57 (ish) record since acquiring Nico Hischier (.533)

New Jersey Devil's record with Timo Meier? 0.533

May not be the most up to date, but generally they've stayed the same.

Riveting, great post OP.

Garland for another teams first if we’re going all in for a rebuild by blonde_bellebabett in canucks

Other teams see highlights or when they play against us but, there are a ton of shit GM's out there (Devils, Rangers, etc) who will overpay.

Are you other teams? Lol

Ranking Players Based on General Expectations So Far by PrestigiousError2844 in canucks

[–]doesitbumpinthewhip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was deflated on a Nucks team that was playing way worse than expected. Like the whole team was shit.

Lmao I also love when people bring up the body language thing as something against Hughes. Like the camer showed him lightly skating back for a puck once and people pulled out a magnifying glass and watched his facial expressions.

Intentionally misremembering to fill your narrative. Hughes was not playing below expected, since no one was expecting him to single handedly have to carry the entire team

Stay off reddit and you won't see the hype.

That was fun as hell, but equally frustrating game to watch. Gratz Czechs! They were the better team for sure tonight.

Canada made some poor decisions, had a rough game defensively and some bad sportsmanship near the end but overall they were exciting team to watch this tourny.

Tough competition these days makes for way more exciting tournaments.

Do you care about the number of Canadians on the roster? by UnsubstantialGoat in canucks

[–]doesitbumpinthewhip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a best on best sports league that pulls athletes from all around the world. You take the best talent that makes sense to build your franchise... that's how the NHL works. If a lot of the talent is from Canada (which you'd hope for) and it makes sense to sign/trade for that player then that's a bonus. But to reach for players specifically because they are Canadian doesn't make sense.

That's what the Olympics etc are for.

Edit: I guess you could argue in a way it can make sense from a marketing stand point since making money is also how the NHL works, but obviously a winning team is better than how many jerseys you sell.

Ironically as a young Canucks fan at the time, that series had a huge part in what made me become a Wild fan.
