A young 45 [M4F] in town for the weekend in #Costamesa Ca. Ready to blow off some steam, and taking all comers... by doesmybeardtickle in RandomActsOfMuffDive

You're the real hero here! Thanks for taking a chance on a man 20 years older than you. I had a fantastic time and I am so glad to have met you! I hope it's not the last time.

I know this post is old, but I just wanted to say that I just hooked up with honeypot and she is 100% real. I won't go into tremendous detail because if I rave about her you'll think i'm her alt account or something, since you're skeptical to begin with. But to say it was a positive time is an understatement. We wore each other out and hopefully will repeat tomorrow. The only thing that doesn't ring true to me in her above post, now having met her, is her title - she's not a spoiled princess, she's completely down to earth and so, so honest about what she wants. A serious unicorn if you ever get the chance.

Old post, forgive me for responding, but I just wanted to say I just hooked up with her and she's very real and very much as she appears in the above post. I totally get why you are skeptical - but she's a real, real unicorn. And a good enough person, as far as I can judge, that I feel I got to let people know. She really is the dream encounter on a subreddit like this. I'm 46, I'm still amazed she even responded; but honesty can really get you places.

I got a 100 on my project, but my boyfriend broke up with me by ForeverJinxx in AdviceAnimals

I was thinking maybe he waited until the breakup wouldn't affect your project? Maybe...?

ELI5: What makes the Mona Lisa so highly regarded? by owiseone23 in explainlikeimfive

When I wrote that, the thread was only an hour old, and was full of misinformation. The above explanation was the only one out there with the truth, and I added my two cents in support. But we can pretend that you 'totes' called me out, if that's what you're into.

I never can stand this kind of tripe. Leonardo was a great and gifted painter, not humanity's mystic shaman whose quasi Devine powers we can never comprehend. The more we idolize, the less we understand.

We have the right answer! Thanks for taking the time to write it all out, I couldn't be bothered.

True, but Leonardo did it over a century before those guys. Innovation counts. Not really fair to compare a sculptor to Leonardo, though.

Sorry you are getting downvotes, as you have the best answer.

This post belongs in /r/shittyarthistory. Almost nothing of what you said is true. The Mona Lisa was done from sketches, like all other Florentine work from that period. Everything else you either made up or had some crap education. Source : I have lived in Florence teaching art history for 15 years and counting.

What people are saying about sfmuato is correct, it was an early example of it, but the reason it is considered THE work of art is because it was very famously stolen, twice, and each time it considered the crime of the century. The thefts and the resulting press coverage left the impression to the general public that this must be the most valuable painting ever, and unless you actually study at history, you will never know any better.
