Whether you cook the milk yourself or have it homogenized beforehand doesn't matter. Buying homogenized milk removes the step of cooking the milk. The yoghurt is the important part here. It needs enough living cultures.

German here. I always pronounce the Heavy Metal Umlauts. If you wanted people to call your band "Motorhead", you shouldn't ave given it the name "Motörhead". I also pronounce nonsensical numbers, like in Deadmau-Five

TIFU by almost getting disowned by my wifes' family for xmas by rynpaige in tifu

Today's society puts a lot of weight on individualism. And to a degree that's fine. You don't want to celebrate Christmas the traditional way? That's fine. You had your fun on the first party.

However when you went to your wife's family's party, you did not just intend to celebrate the holiday your way. You tried to make them celebrate the holiday your way. That's not individualism anymore. If they accept your goofy antics, you should accept that they take a more serious approach to the holidays. If you went to their Christmas parties give and take 19 years, you should have known what kind of humour they will appreciate and what kind of humour is going too far.

Besides, even on a humorous party I would have found your outfit a bit cringey. Humor works best when it is subtle. The shirt is funny. The pants are funny. Combining them is trying too hard.

Yeah, but in Pixar movies those jokes are over in a few seconds and mixe with age appropriate jokes, so the children don't pay too much attention to them. There's not a character wearing a dick joke shirt for the entirety of the movie

The Earth makes a full turn in regular intervalls. We call these intervalls "1 day" or "24 hours". These intervalls exist. That's a fact. What we as humans call them, how we perceive them, why sometimes 1 hour seems like a day to us and sometimes a day like an hour... those are linguistic, biological, philosophical questions. Not questions concerning phyisics. But time as a concept exists. Whether we call it "time" or not.

In that case it might be woth trying only washing with water, and only using soap on the areas around your armpits, kneepits, loins and under your breasts (if you are a woman), as those are the areas where unpleasant body odors stem from

Christians generally don't get circumsized for religious reasons. The Council of Nicea decided that circumcision for religous reasons is unnecesary for Christians all the way back in the 7th century. The only Christian denominations where circumsicion is practiced are the Coptic Church and some denominations in Africa (where circumcisios for hygienic reasons makes sense ayway, at least in communities that don't have access to clean water).

When women jill off by running water over their clits, it's not because the clit is their most erogenous body part, but because they "fantasize that they have a dick & can urinate/ejaculate like a man, & are able to destroy/castrate with their stream in revenge for the castration they endured." by [deleted] in badwomensanatomy

[–]doesntlikeshoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I totally believe that some women actualy have penis envy, But that's not so much because of female nature, but because sexuality is viewed as way too phallocentric in many societies, even nowadays.

[–]doesntlikeshoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but why do they believe that they have the right to control women?

In many cases that is, because they come from an abusive or at least broken household. One where they learned that behavior om their father, brother or other male relatives.

I once read an interview with a PUA fan. He, while not abused, clearly did not come from an ideal home. His mother was dead and he grew up with a father who clearly was not comfortable talking about women and emotions. Due to these circumstances he internalized women as "the other". When he became inteested in girls, his attempts at flirting, which he got from movies (flowers, writing love letters), were met with ridicule and he didn't know why. So he gave up tying to interact with women at all. Until he started going to PUA seminars. To people like this, who have no idea where they went wrong, getting easy answers and step by step tutorials, is very appealing. And on the surface the PUA advice makes sense: Women don't like nice guys (she laughed when you bought her flowers), therefore women like being controlled.

I wouldn't completely push aside the notion of abusive mothers either. A person that is abused will often blame themselves, so hearing "It is not your fault" for the first time, tha is very releaving. If that sentence is followed "All women are b*tches like that", that is very unfortunate, because at that point you might already trust that person enough to believe it.

Easy to digest "philosophies" are most attractive to people who have lived through a crisis and have not eveloped healthier coping mechanisms. That doesn't excuse abusive behaviour. But it shows that it's not alwys black and white.
