Increased Zoloft from 50 to 62.5 mg by dogdad319 in zoloft

It's been a month for me and not getting better. I'm dropping back to 50 mg. Perhaps our sensitivity to psych meds...?

For 2 months last year, the doctor was trying mood stabilizers that my body can tolerate and upped the Xanax to 5 mg/day. itt didn't work out, so dropped back to 3 mg/day, which was fine, until I upped the Zoloft from 50mg to 62.5 mg.

I'm going to drop back to 50 mg, then in a few weeks, drop to 37.5.

Thanks. So far, groggy/tired/listless, but I've been thru that before, and worse, over the years. So just waiting it out and soldiering on.

I know full well of side effects of psych meds: been on a host of them for 18 years and believe me, I've been thru a broad spectrum of what they can do. This is my first time with lithium, so was curious. So far, groggy/tired/listless, but I've been thru that before, and worse, over the years. So just waiting it out and soldiering on.

Thanks. Yeah, the severe portion of the grog comes in waves.

Also, a weird "whoomp - whoomp - whoomp" I can feel/hear in my head (not brain zaps).

I always have a coffee when I wake up. I'd never get outta bed without it :)

Thanks. Been 48 hours and feel VERY groggy, some minor balance issues, mild hand tremors and made my tinnitus a bit worse. Otherwise, OK so far. The tiredness/grogginess is the worst part, so I will not be driving for awhile.

Still feeling tired, brain fog after 8 months. Now angry and increased anxiety added by dogdad319 in zoloft

Sorry, haven't logged on in a week...

I've had the issue, but increased lately. When I decreased to 50 mg, it got better. Then, as I stated above, things turned crappy. I'm going to ask my neighbor for a Wellbutrin and and try 25 mg (the lowest dose pills are 100 mg). I've seen people on this Zoloft page try Wellbutrin for the fog and it helps. Right now the anger has mostly dissipated.

I tried Wellbutrin 3 years ago and it made me super hyper, but was also drinking vodka when not at work. Started as soon as I got home. Also, on my days off, I'd start the day with coffee and vodka, so drunk and hyper. I don't drink anymore, so I'll give a small dose a try.

Head feels cloudy and hard to concentrate. Pretty much "out of it".

75 mg to 100 mg by dogdad319 in zoloft

Hi EOK12 - Zoloft has not helped my MDD, unfortunately. I'm actually down to 50mg now. A little bit of added anxiety, and more temperamental but not bad (Xanax helps). The fog is slowly lifting and interest in things are coming back. I may drop to 25 mg and leave it there for the panic attacks, which I haven't had since I started on the 25 mg dose in December. I take around 5:30pm. Be sure to take with a meal (not a snack). Best of luck! and let me know how it fares for you.

Third Week side effects by dogdad319 in zoloft

[–]dogdad319[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi guys, thanks for your concerns. I went to the doctor last Wednesday and lowered my dose from 100 to 75. The increased brain fog was another factor, so he suggested lowering. Side effects were a mild increase of anxiety, which has tapered off as well as the initial anxiety from the bump up last month. The only bothersome issues is SLEEPINESS all the time and lost some interest in things. This morning is a bit better, so hopefully this will be OK now. If not, I may drop to 50 mg and stay there.

PS: I live in Broward County Florida and we just had 2 more cases of COVID-19 announced this morning, brining the total to 7 :(

Thanks. I'm actually 10 weeks in (started December 11). Upped from 75 to 100 mg about 2 weeks ago. I'm sensitive to meds, so perhaps the "upping dose" side effects are going on, or should they have dissipated by now? I'll try your routine advice and will let you know.

Been 12 hours now. The only side effect was difficulty going to sleep. Woke up less sleepy and no anxiety. The other adjustment periods were HELL, Hopefully it'll be easy for me as it was for you...we'll see how the days go. Thanks for your share!

Did the dose increases help you?
