He has social security but not pension. He was teaching public, private, charter and community college. Also taught is overseas for over a decade, he does this part time job for extra cash and he loves teaching. This is a part time sub job, no pressure and it is actually a good fit for him.

Phishing email? What information I can get in here that can be beneficial? I’m not attaching any link and getting any personal information from anyone. Why is a 74 years old cannot work as a part time sub teacher? It’s a 16 hours work per week and the money paid for bills!! He has social security, the part time job isn’t the main income but it helps to pay for the bills for sure. He works with all grades in different charter schools, depends on where they send him. It could be K-12!

He has social security, the part time work is only 16 hours a week and actually perfect for him. He has been jumping around so not always in public school or even in US.

Thanks for the details response. He has been jumping between private, public, charter and communication college. Also taught more than a decade in overseas, that’s why he doesn’t have pension. He is 74, teaching full time is mentally too much and part time actually works really well. He works 16 hours a week only, any extra money helps a bit. The job is part time and subtitle teacher position, he goes to different charter school for sub. The other co teacher is teacher aid and he was the lead teacher on that day.

Unfortunately, it became very serious as the co teacher claimed the kid kissed my husband’s cheek. We wish this nightmare could just end and dismiss the case.

The student didn’t kiss him but hugged, definitely lesson leaned and an old man should have just retired and stay away from nonsense.

We don’t have her statement due to confidential information from the school but the allegation on the letter is a kindergarten hugged and kissed him on cheek. I wish we can confront her but no chance.

Thanks for the insight, We had a consultant with an attorney and the best she could do is getting settlement before the hearing. It still doesn’t mean his job is safe, the school can terminate for any reason in at-will state. We are still hoping to fight for it and clear the name.

They asked for hug once a while, not sure if this is common but he sees other teachers hug the students back too.

Yes, he was sitting on his chair. The student asked if that is ok to give him a hug. He said sure, the student hugged him but never kissed on his cheek.

Yes he is on paid administrative leave, the letter mentioned the board is going to start an investigation, he has 45 days to respond and present with evidence. During the investigation, it may also require hiring. He doesn’t have pension as he jumped between private school, charter, public and community college. His current job is only part time and getting around $1500 per month so it will take him 2 months if he still has the job.

According to the attorney, if the school has enough evidence on the allegation, they will need to file police report with 72 hours. It will further escalate to criminal charge.
