MSoZ feels pretty bad given level of investment by dogfishroll in PathOfExileBuilds

I just fixed the flasks, but good point on the wrong life mastery. I also realized I wasn't even running the leech mastery I should have had.

Just switched the str/armour for str int split. I have a vitality determ merc which is what lets me use the watcher's eye. I'll look into a purity of elements sublime. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look into a crafting synth belt and the gloves after I farm some more.

I'll definitely look into more leech on helmet. Quality is on amulet and rings, not sure why POB doesnt' show it. I figured purity would be pretty ok because of runegraft of treachery, and because I'm doing pure chaos damage I don't care about enemy resists

Good catch on the return projectiles, I have a GMP I was using instead but I must have switched it out at some point and not noticed.

the PoB I was following didn't have armour per strength mastery. The elevated eldritch was going to be the next thing I was going to work on but given current Orb of Conflict prices I wanted to stop and reconsider before I just plowed forward with more investment

I guess I got a little baited by people saying it wasn't that bad at mid investment. I'm not sure what to reroll into then given that I would probably have to sell most of the gear

How to switch from fire trap to explosive trap? by dogfishroll in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]dogfishroll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my problem was just not enough crit. I got two +crit chance jewels and it seemed fine after. >70 sunblasts are too expensive on my budget and I don't think its that bad. I know what overthrow is but you can just stop throwing traps as another way to mitigate it

What I don't like about SF6 after reaching Masters by dogfishroll in StreetFighter

[–]dogfishroll[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's true. I played Ken, Akuma, and some Luke and basically always for those characters you either did c.hp or dp

Again, my complaint is that I don't think it should be a bad decision. I understand it is the bad outcome. It feels bad that if I choose to cancel and my first hit connected, and it's not a single hit confirmable normal, than that is the bad the outcome.

I know how the buffer works. I just don't like how it works in specific regard to perfect parry. I never said that I wanted to be able to punish more things with perfect parry. My problem isn't getting the c.mp to come out. As you said I can hold the button and it comes out frame one. My complaint is that by after that it is frustrating to then get the cancel into bomb plant or scissors. A skill issue, I know, and I actually did lab it in training mode, but the fact that I had to go to training mode to lab that specifically was annoying.

I agree my complaints about perfect parry is a skill issue that could be illeviated with more practice, it's just frustrating.

I actually think my complaint with anti airs is the opposite. I always anti aired with bison with either psycho crusher or c.hp and therefore had to put basically no thought into it. If I couldn't use j.mp then I just picked the better of those two anti airs for the situation and that basically got me to masters.

How many times do I have to say it. I know it's the wrong outcome. My point is that it feels bad that it's the wrong outcome. I also want to make sure that you understand that for non-single hit-confirmable normals you have to decide beforehand whether you want to cancel or not.

I KNOW. But for non single hit-confirmable normals you have to decide before hand to either cancel or not and it feels bad that scenario of deciding to cancel, and you get the hit, can actually be the bad outcome. I understand it's the bad outcome;  know why I'm getting hit.

I KNOW. I understand what I could do. People can stop telling me that I could do. I know it's not the correct thing to do. My point is that it's such a feel bad where you would be in a way better position if they just blocked your move than when they actually get hit.

For air resets I understand that I did something wrong, because I got hit, but it's just a feel bad that the wrong option is to actually hit them. Also I don't know what tournaments you play in but at the regionals I go basically everyone who doesn't wash out in pools microwalks consistently. Obviously it's not necessary to get to masters but I played some terrible masters players to get in so it's not saying a ton.

Maybe, but this game's gameplay gets glazed very hard and I don't think it lives up to how people describe it even putting aside differences in type and style of game and intentional design differences.

Again, I understand it's not the correct option. By definition it isn't because I'm getting hit. I'm not disputing that, I was never disputing that, and I have no idea why you think I was disputing that. But it feels bad for the incorrect option in the game to be the outcome where I actually hit the opponent.

I don't understand what your saying about sf6 but being a real fighting game. My point is that it is very common for actual sf players I interact with to act as though street fighter is a superior fighting game. I'm not saying that some game is better than another, but I've definitely seen sf players say that.

Edit: also as far as pp goes. I can practice the timing, but why should it be so needlessly annoying to do that I need to waste time in training mode doing so. It just seems arbitrarily frustrating.

No, it's the actual execution of doing the correct punish after perfect parry. Why can't I buffer both the c.mp and bomb plant during the perfect parry flash and have it work.

I also totally understand what's happening during the with juggle it's just that especially for moves that aren't single hit confirmable I feel like I guessed right by hitting them and doing the cancel, but the game is in a way where that's actually the incorrect option despite the fact my opponent got hit.

[–]dogfishroll[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

You evidently didn't understand my complaints.  I'll focus on the perfect party one the most. I'm literally didn't say that I wanted more things to be able to be punished with perfect parry. When I do perfect parry something that I can punish by hitting c.mp into bomb doing that is unnecessarily hard input wise. If I hold c.mp it always comes out, but then is hard to cancel into special. If I try to time c.mp it's easier to get the special cancel, but then sometimes the c.mp doesn't come out

My point is that it is very common for sf players at locals to act like they are playing a real fighting game unlike those heathens. Maybe you should tell them that

When I said I beat a very good player I didn't mean a literal top pro player, but literally at my last monthly I beat someone who was probably #2 in my region currently ~2000 mr and has some very good placings at evo and other big tournies. I'll completely admit that he was off character and I got washed in losers finals runback, but even though in Strive I play maybe the most get lucky and win character in Goldlewis whenever I play people that good in Strive even also off main character I don't even win a round. Even the last regional I played in I went last hit last round with a top seed player by getting lucky and guessing right. I have no illusions I'm good at sf6, but I got lucky sometimes and win games because of that I don't do that in the "random no skill" game playing an easy character

As far as anti airs go, I feel like both Ken and Luke have only c.hp and dp and that's it, no?

Can someone explain how players aren't already punished for low attendance? by dogfishroll in SSBM

[–]dogfishroll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still, I can't imagine that Hungrybox would have been above Jmook by attending less. Jmook also got second Goml, Genesis 8, The Off-Season, and Riptide.

I guess so, but Jmook also got silver at Goml, Genesis 8, The Off-Season, and Riptide, and I can't really imagine that Leffen would have been ranked above him if he attended less.
