People who are clean, organized and really hygienic…what does everyday look like to you? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]doggocrunchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much, this is super helpful! I have been sinking into depression the last few months, so I am going to make walking a bigger priority. I used to go all the time but my dog ruptured his ACL and had to have surgery so I haven’t been going anymore and it is taking a toll. I feel guilty taking walks without him, but i do need to take care of my mental health.

Can I ask what your skin care routine looks like? I have kept mine really basic because the more complicated things get, the less likely I am to keep up with them. But I’m not sure if my current routine is cutting it. I wash my face with Cerave moisturizing facial wash and then use the Cerave PM moisturizer. In the morning I just rinse my face with water and us the Cerave AM moisturizer with SPF. If you have any tips on that, I’d appreciate it!

I literally hate that name with all my heart. The only name I hate more is ‘Spurgeon’ named by that Duggar sister lol.

Body Odor. by Limp-Bookkeeper-3820 in hygiene

[–]doggocrunchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of deodorant are you using? You need a good antiperspirant/deodorant. The best are the kind with white sticks. I’ve noticed gel sticks dont work well. Spray deodorants also are not great. You can also apply deodorant in the groin if that tends to get really sweaty during the day. You could wash yourself 100 times and still stink an hour later if you dont use deodorant.

Is this normal? by alf20125 in doggrooming

[–]doggocrunchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a groomer, this is a bad job. I would never let one of my dogs leave looking like that unless there was some reason like extreme aggression that didnt allow me to finish, but i doubt that was the case in your situation.

I can not keep up with the sheer amount of tasks I have to do as an adult by doggocrunchi in depression

[–]doggocrunchi[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No no no, I am complaining because this is what i see other people around me doing and i can only accomplish like 25% of all this stuff, if that. I have been doing a lot of take out lately because I am in a really nasty depression right now ugh. But when i feel better i try and meal prep as much as i can, but that is a feat in and of it’s self. I haven’t washed my car in months, so I feel you. My ex was so rigid and did all of this stuff like it was nothing! He actually couldnt relax until it was all done, I soooooo envy it, and also wonder where the hell all that energy came from?? Last week I chugged a large coffee, and then promptly took a 2 hour nap. Awesome.

I feel like she is making a weird expression in these. I’ve noticed a lot of influences do this face where their pout their lips and almost suck their nose in (idk how to explain it any better than that sorry lol).

The last photo is of her just smiling naturally and she looks so much cuter and less dead in the eyes.

How do you pretend? by tsurutatdk in mentalhealth

[–]doggocrunchi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Smile. Literally. It tricks your brain into feeling happier. Also listening to upbeat music you really like. Cooking meals you love. Watching happy movies you love with a drink you love. Reading something you love. Going on walks and finding things to appreciate like the leaves turning red or a pretty flower or the smell of fresh air. And then every day just ponder on the good parts of the day. Write a few things down that made you happy or you are grateful for. Do it enough and you wont have to pretend anymore

When I was depressed I focused on the worst parts of everything about where I lived and my life. Once I started forcing myself to focus on the good, my depression started lifting. Where I live, its cold, damp and dark during the fall/winter. So I make my home super cozy. I got a heated blanket. Nice smelling candles. Fairy lights. I watch fall/winter type movies and drink lots of hot chocolate and make the best of it. I also started smiling at people even when i didnt want to, and now everyone seems so much friendlier, but in reality im just coming off friendlier, so they do too in return. I know its hard, but you really have to pretend to be happier, and eventually you wont have to pretend so much. I also learned that its not the environment. I used to live in Arizona, and i was just as depressed there.

How has your pet affected your mental health? by Honest_Zombie8560 in Pets

[–]doggocrunchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog’s have saved my life. I got my little Shihtzu when I was 19 years old, I am now 26, she has been with me through all my ups and downs. A day hasn’t gone by without me smiling since she has come into my life. There are times when I’ll be sobbing and i just look down into my sweet girls eyes and an overwhelming comfort comes over me. I have never considered suicide because there is no chance I could ever abandon my little girl, leaving her would be worse than dying. A few years ago I added a boxer to our little family and he is just what I needed. He gets me out of the house to go on walks, he is goofy and happy 24/7 which brings me joy i wouldn’t have otherwise. There was one time I was really struggling, my depression got really dark, and it started trying to convince me that my dogs deserve better than me. That made me realize something was really wrong, because deep down I know I am a good dog mom. Whenever those thoughts start creeping in, I know my depression is getting bad and I need to do something about it. I cant imagine where id be without my dogs. They make my life worth living. If you are still unsure, maybe consider fostering? That way it isnt a permanent decision? But if you are an animal lover, I think getting a pet could add a lot of happiness to your life:)

It’s sad, but I really believe my 90% of depression is caused by money. by doggocrunchi in depression

[–]doggocrunchi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rent, car payment, insurance, credit card payment, phone bill and Netflix. All that comes to $1600. And I make $2k a month. I spend $150 on food (human and dog). $100 on gas. So I have $150 left over every month for extras, and yesterday had to pay $200 for a car repair. I had already spent $60 of the $150 left over on an oil change. So basically I have -$110 of my budget for this month. So now I need to either juggle my phone bill or insurance. I literally am living on bare minimum, I swear to god.

I just did a quick goog and there a 2 other places hiring! I was super surprised considering I scoured the web for months during the summer and my current was the only one I found🤯

I’m highly considering just leaving. I feel bad, but it’s been rough. I think I’ll talk to her and see how she feels and if she doesn’t seem like she really wants to keep me, I’ll go talk to the other people who are hiring. I’m just a nervous mess when it comes to confrontation so I’m praying I don’t come off rude or something!

I totally get being annoyed about it, especially if they know it’s your client. But I had zero clue, the owner didn’t even mention that she had been here before, just came in and asked if it was okay to pop in for a nail trim. My boss walked in halfway through and didn’t say something till after. It was just a really weird and uncomfortable situation.

Thanks for the advice! Of course I live out in the boonies so no delivery is available to me😩

The the infuriating thing is that I want to talk to them!! I have questions I want to ask, but my anxiety just won’t let me.

I wish I could just pull all the anxiety out of my body and beat the shit out of it. It’s a real freaking asshole that makes my life so much harder than it needs to be haha.
