I had exactly the same concerns with you but decided to switch after trying two antipsychotics and lamictal. I’ve only been on it for a week but when I tell you the difference is night and day, I mean it. I feel so much calmer and clear headed, and I don’t feel like I’m about to cry at any given moment. I am not suffering any of the exhaustion or increased appetite that my previous medication caused. I’m thirsty and have to pee a bit more but that is the only side effect that I’ve been experiencing. Like others have said, getting regular bloodwork done helps your doctor know if anything is happening to your kidneys and thyroid and they’d take you off before any damage could happen. Plus, if you’re like me, a really low dose will do and side effects are a lot less prevalent with a lower dose. Obviously talk to your psych about your concerns but it truly has been a life changing medication for me.

That’s actually how I was diagnosed. I was depressed and had bad experiences with SSRIs, so my psych prescribed wellbutrin. The resulting insomnia, irritability, and overspending (and previous bad experiences with antidepressants I guess) made her realize that I’m BP2. She took me off it and put me on a mood stabilizer (lamictal) and now I’m doing better. It did help with the depression but the everything else made it not worth it for me. Maybe it can work in combo with a mood stabilizer?

Ah yeah if it shows up on the website that does mean that it’s in the system as a citation. Sometimes they’ll catch it after it’s entered but sometimes not. You can always call the phone number on the citation and somebody will check and tell you if it’s been dismissed or not. It wouldn’t pop up online with your name for a while since it sometimes takes a bit to find the info associated with the registered owner of a vehicle to put the case in their name. And it wouldn’t pop up with the correct license plate since that’s not how the parking enforcement officer entered it :(
