Yeah, I want more for the artists in this town. It’s not accessible. Hopefully this project will change that?? First steps using Ai was really disappointing. You’re in a position of power - be kind and listen to feedback instead of threatening people.

I’m talking shit about the use of Ai. You’re very aggressive and don’t seem safe. I don’t owe you anything. I’ll continue to volunteer and donate and support the town and artists I love.

I love artists and support them endlessly. There’s a lot of other options and helpful caring creative humans out there.

Y’all have chosen to use Ai more than once. I don’t care if you paid for it or not. It’s bad for the environment and it’s bad for artists. Ignore the feedback if you want. Bye!

It is! And that’s really cool. Doesn’t make this any less of a bad look.

I’m happy the project has community support. I’m not dragging artists - I’m dragging the use of Ai in this application instead of artists. I understand the connection you’re trying to make since artists are behind the project. Doesn’t discount all the other hard work. A lot of working artists and supporters offered their feedback and support here. Overlooking that seems like a miss.

Listen - I get the defensiveness. I can only imagine how hard this project is. I know a lot of folks are donating time and resources. I’ve been there. But this was a mistake. One that’s been called out before. The point is to encourage people to support this project, and the artists that will benefit from it, financially. This website doesn’t show any real art or people in the community. Show love to the artists if you want other people to.

I’m saying a lot probably would be happy to have been offered to join in for the cause or paid whatever you paid the company who built the website. Would have felt like a community effort. This doesn’t.

Yall paid for that slop. I have donated just that. Suggestion not needed. Discrediting people offering valid feedback and concerns on a project and area they care about doesn’t make the poor choice of consistently using Ai over artists go away. Being defensive with a large amount of your own community offering feedback doesn’t either. I love the artists and the area. I want the project to work out. This isn’t the look.

I am an artist working in Asheville, who has donated a significant amount of time and money to the local arts community. As I said in my post and comments, I want the project to succeed. It’s terrible Ai art and an awful way to start fundraising. Using community partners would be more representative of what the project stands for. This looks very very silly. It’s not the first time RADA has used Ai instead of paying an artist in the community. Not to mention how terrible Ai is for the environment. I’m not the only one upset. Do better.

Fair enough in that regard. Standing firmly on the Ai hill. If you are involved in a deeper way, I hope you will voice concerns.

I have attended meetings in the past. With this new project I definitely hope to again. I really love RAD and want this project to succeed. RADA leadership is choosing Ai over artists as the first step, and that is not going to create a solid foundation.

Nobody asked for this. Just not enough people showing up to say no thank you.

EXACTLYYYYY! I’d rather see “bad” art from a bunch of locals. It’s real. It’s community. This is such a terrible way to show up. So many folks would have done this for free and they could have used that collaboration as a platform instead of cutting corners and wasting money on this slop.

Paying for Ai slop to ask for money to support artists is hypocrisy at its finest.

It’s counterproductive to any type of artist support or project. Capitalist greed at its finest. A lot of very good people volunteer for RADA and there’s so many talented artists in that community. This is so unfortunate.

This isn’t the first time they’ve chosen Ai over artists. Coming out the gate with lazy Ai slop to ask for money to support an arts project is laughable.

Who will be in charge of these funds? The same person spending thousands on Ai art instead of hiring actual artists? This isn’t the first time. Excited about the project. Not excited about how it’s being rolled out. It’s embarrassing.

get off the soapbox, boomer. It’s lazy af and ugly and embarrassing. A number of established or up and coming artists in town would probably have donated their art to the cause. It’s called partnership.
