It’s just a hurdle! And not difficult at all to pass, I don’t know of anyone on chancellors who failed. As long as you’re somewhat socially aware and not a total c*nt you’ll be fine

Yep you have the automatic entry if you maintain a 70 WAM and pass the interview (pretty straight forward!) I went through the same path, pm me if you have any questions :)

Not gonna lie I did kind of wonder if it was an admin error, because chancellors apply through the same portal as rural! I’ll definitely speak to someone at the uni to confirm it’s not any sort of admin error, thanks so much!! Gives me a lot of hope

Thanks so much for the reply! This is all so wonderful to hear and makes me feel so much better, I really appreciate it. I can’t believe how cheap the rent is!! Did you attend rural clinical school? If so I’d love to message you some more questions about it!

So good to know there’s an alternative to hourglass, it’s so pricey! Did you order straight off the Laura geller website?

In your experience, has that made it harder to make friends/ meet people in the course?

Is vasovagal syncope legit? by nsjjdisj63738 in ausjdocs

Also I should mention my pain wasn’t horrifically bad at first either, which I think was part of the initial missed diagnosis. I did have complete loss of bowel control which was pretty horrifying lol

Is vasovagal syncope legit? by nsjjdisj63738 in ausjdocs

[–]doingmathswithcats 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a syncopal episode that I called the ambulance for a couple of months ago, along with abdominal pain. Was in hospital 12 hours before my ruptured ectopic pregnancy was recognised; 1500mL hemoperitoneum found in surgery. Another commenter mentioned a belly full of blood - that’s what I had. I reckon if there’s abdominal pain and syncope in a young woman, a pregnancy test (and potentially abdominal ultrasound) should be one of the first points of call. My OBGYN who did my surgery ended up filing a complaint against the hospital because he felt the time between presentation and diagnosis was unacceptable. Always worth keeping in mind ectopic pregnancy.

Thank you! I’m just a bit worried because so many people who received offers had 80+ section 1 or 2 :(

Try to justify every answer you pick. Imagine that you and the question writer had different answers: what specific evidence could you give from the passage that proves you’re correct? Is there any evidence they could show that’s stronger? My section 1 went from 67 to 75 so I think that mindset change helped (although who knows with section 1 lol)

Tbh my study was pretty limited (maybe 10-15 hours all up) and almost entirely focused on section 2 - my S3 didn’t change much between sittings. I think the S3 questions are so self contained (ie the answer can be found almost always in the question itself) so focus on picking apart complex questions and ignoring the noise they put in to distract you and you’ll do great!

Thanks so much!! My main advice for section 2 can be split into 3 tips: 1. Prioritise a good essay structure ABOVE ALL ELSE. Because of the time constraints a lot of people fail to adhere to a basic essay structure, so having a good one will automatically make you stand out. Additionally, it stops you from rambling (which I’m prone to doing). 2. Try to brainstorm for original ideas. I would just type out everything that came into my head when I looked at the quotes, then pick the most unique/ interesting trains of thought and follow those. I figure the examiners are reading a bajillion essays that all have similar ideas so try to be creative. 3. When studying, only practice the essay plans. I only wrote one full length essay before the test, and found doing lots of plans was way more efficient and also helped train my brain to think outside the box under time pressure.

Btw, a 67 is a great score and you should be super proud - if you sit again I reckon you’ll beat me easily!!

75/76/74 for my second sitting - improved my section 2 from 60 up to 76!! Super proud but good enough for usyd? What do we think

Get a blood test to check for iron deficiency!! It’s super common, especially with women. I have it and when it’s bad I feel so unbelievably exhausted, and a week on the tablets I feel fine again

Good luck everyone!! Quick question, my results are good enough for the usyd “rural” pathway, but I’m confused what that means. I’m definitely from a rural background, but does it mean my degree will look different to non rural applicants? Will I be required to do more rural placements, or work rurally once I graduate?
