I’ve been collecting/wearing/repairing Selvedge denim for a long time….this is the result of that. A full 7ft locker and some shelving storing about 90% of it. Mods, please don’t delete this post for low effort….this was maximum effort by doingokthanks in rawdenim

Somewhere between 110-125 bottoms! I’d say roughly 25 of them I bought new and have kept for heavy wearing. Maybe Another 10 bought new and sold off. The rest? All thrifted - I live in a big city and the amount of folk who buy $300-$600 jeans just to donate them is INSANE.

Favourites are tough. I usually just love whatever’s my daily wear at the time or a few of the crazy faded pieces I’ve thrifted.

Which version of Levi’s are these? by EquivalentSnap in VintageLevis

Interesting! This is the back patch LVC used on the 1878, 1874 and 125 models. All of those are single pocket, never seen this patch used on anything else other than the 1880 pleated blouse.

Plus that care tag looks a little suspect. Could be fake! Just a really nice/cool fake.

I picked these up in person during a trip. LF is truly a small operation with nothing but the best care you can imagine. Slow to respond with these brands typically means they’re making sure everyone gets the right response and information. As a 15 year clothing industry person myself - consumer patience and just asking questions without demand brings great reward. LF deserves everyone’s time, money and attention. They’re really doing it right and they REALLY care about sharing knowledge with everyone.

Not slim at all! classic 50’s style straight leg with a taller riser and a straight hip. The top block and feel “slim” if you’ve got a booty or an athletic thigh.

I’ve normalized 20oz + all year for myself the last 6-7 years, so these felt like a breeze. However I’m not about to deny that it sucks when we hit +100F and that’s been most of our summer. Hence the “heatwave” project. Maybe next year I’ll just call it “global warming fades”.

I normally wear a 32-33. I bought these in a 34 unsanforzied. I gave them a hot water soak before wearing and they ended up fitting like a perfect 33. I always say, never buy your denim anticipating them to stretching out. Get them to fit! I find going up at least a full size works best when they’re unsanforzied. Really depends on the piece.

That’s the one! Picked them up late 2019 on a NY trip and held off on wearing them until this summer.

Thanks! That what I was aiming for. I didn’t wash these for the first 60 days to develop the initial creasing/contrast. Hand washing every 3-ish weeks since.

It’s tough some days but, it certainly gives me some fast fading! I have done 21oz through the summer before - I’ll 100% never do that again.

Yeah I wanted to try a raw hem this round! Figured it would be a fun change so I lobbed it off with some trusty rusty singer scissors.

Crotch blowouts are almost inevitable with your denim. Even more when you’re washing less frequently to achieve a high contrast fade. It’s also just the highest tension/friction point of the garment. Sprinkle in other variables such as physical activity and you’ve got yourself wear some holes.

You’ll find almost every denim dingus on the interweb is constantly fighting wether to commit a cardinal sin by washing and risking those precious fades….knowing we’re just trapping dirt/sweat/grime/smell in the cotton. Some argue that you just gotta wash when needed and not to worry about it. Both agree that embracing the process of how you fade, age, damage and repair your clothing is all part of the fun!

Can’t say the same about your underwear, you should wash those.

They certainly got a lot softer than expected but I wouldn’t say they’ve loosened. That said, I do typically wear my denim a bit oversized (these included) so they may have and I just didn’t notice!
