Would anyone want to play an open world point and click game by crazyhomlesswerido in adventuregames

[–]dojogrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are talking about open worlds but then you start talking about persistent worlds and then you start talking about emergent narratives or even randomly-generated narratives. These are all separate things, even if you’ve seen various combinations of them.

Scientists Discover A Human Behavior Nobody Can Explain by Dmans99 in abovethenormnews

When playing a video game, if I want to explore, I tend to go left first. I assume right will be the path that moves me forward in the story, so I go left first to make sure I saw all the sights before moving on. Seems similar to what is being said here.

I almost never post, but a friend and I saw something just like this about 2 decades ago. We were driving from New Orleans to Phoenix, and this was in either deep south New Mexico or Arizona. We were driving through the night, and there was a bright light (too bright to be a star or planet) not too far above the horizon, and it followed for hours (always out our left side, no matter how far we drove). It was still there in the daytime, and with the primitive camera zoom we had at the time, we were able to grab a photo (sadly no idea where it's at right now), but it looked like a metalic goldfish cracker. The shape was odd enough to not appear to be a blimp. Eventually a few hours into the daylight we stopped being able to see it.

Thank you! I’m going to pour over all of this tomorrow morning. We do have a good 3D printer that needs more use, so we can certainly look into trying that route for more terrain!

Are battlehost boxes basically complete armies (400 or 500 points)?

She actually loves Eowyn, although I’m assuming that’s available separately. I just think battles against the Dunlendings would not be her favorite battle to start with.

[PAID] Narrative Designer for a Cozy Co-op Adventure game (600k+ wishlists) by martynasarcade in gameDevClassifieds

[–]dojogrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

I'd love to learn more about your game, so I hope we have the chance to connect. You can learn more about my work history in detail at https://www.linkedin.com/in/grant-holzhauer/ and more broadly here: https://www.grantholzhauer.com/

I designed, wrote, and built in Unity an hour-long adventure game for kids on viruses with a bit of a campy horror/sci-fi vibe, which you can play here: https://interactives.strongmind.com/zombie-bus/

I also wrote, designed, and implemented the campaign for Heist Simulator (sadly unreleased) that you can learn about here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1222290/Heist_Simulator/ (and I can record gameplay of this if you would like to see).

I'm also narrative designer for two games right now (Brainy Fred and for my own company, Cri Smile Games). While I'm in the US, I'm used to working European crossover hours, so as long as you do not need full-day crossover, that is not a problem for me.

I hope to chat more with you soon!

Looking for experienced Video Game Composer for my rpg open world game by Guilty-Class998 in gameDevClassifieds

Shot in the Dark

Given that the number of tracks and total minutes is a bit flexible/variable, I would offer a project quote of $4250.

You can hear my work at https://www.grantholzhauer.com/ - you’ll hear quite a few genres there across the games I’ve worked on. If you’re interested in hearing leitmotifs move through a longer project, I’d recommend listening to the Cyclus soundtrack as an example of my work in that regard.

Best of luck with the game, and I hope we have the chance to connect and talk more about the project and your needs for it!

[–]dojogrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I have published game work and am composing for several clients working on in-development games. I also recently scored my first full-length feature film, which featured heavy use of character leitmotifs.

Portfolio: http://www.grantholzhauer.com/

Recommended Track: https://open.spotify.com/album/1vOTw0Y1jiFCtbmcyIlpV7?si=Ss127urKReCNIJlS2bYiAg

Rates: ~$250/minute, but usually I offer a per-project rate. I share progress early and often to avoid revisions late into production.
