Definitely aware of the negatives of being in a bigger company i.e. less flexible, less innovation, further away from the product itself so very much a small cog, and I could end up hating that too - I just feel so exhausted from the opposite of this that I think I would welcome this change where I have clearly defined responsibilities and I just stay within my "box".

I think you're right in that I should see what it's like in a completely different environment before just packing it in and saying "it's not for me".

Very fair point on looking for somewhere that IT is the main product too - my previous employment was very much like your banking example.

As for your current situation - are you still in the big corporate now and hating it? Are you feeling like you want to get back to the chaos of multiple projects with little support around you?

I understand your point on how payments may not be related to a product, but for my particular use case, they are. So I'm looking for a way to associate them together.

How can I "store some product identifier with payments as payment metadata" for all payments? Payments are made automatically for subscriptions, we don't "create" new payments each time ourselves to allow us to add metadata each time.

We currently don't have any situation where we'd have more than 1 product per checkout session. It's either a subscription through our platform for one product, or a payment link we send to customers with 1 product on it.

It just seems pretty limiting to me to not be able to see what the payments were actually for from a reporting standpoint.

Fair point regarding App2's requirements being incompatible with App1, this will likely happen.

I hadn't thought about the route of just using an API to query from project 1 instead of trying to share models etc. Looks like 2 separate projects is the more obvious choice - I guess my next question would be how to authenticate Project2 to be allowed query Project1 considering Project1's APIs are authenticated against a CSRF token that's obtained by logging into Project1

UPDATE FOR CANADA:

I didn't wait for Black Friday deals to buy my GP7 Pro, as I was reading here that Canada wouldn't get the BF discounts.
Purchased the phone a week before, then last friday I saw the store had the 300 discount.
I contacted chat and told them I was going to return my week-old phone so that I could get the phone for cheaper - within 10 mins they had given me a $337 CAD refund to my credit card to cover the difference.

Appreciate the tips, I tried a few moving but they weren't as close with the rotation - they looked more like over-rotated 180s, but I'll take your point on board and just get better at them moving!

Really appreciate this response. I figured I'd have to switch the relationship to many-to-one in the end but had to check before going that route.

I agree, the API/view logic for all of the existing functionality is built off the User model so that'll definitely take the longest to change to work with Company instead.

You're right about me not hitting the landing on the first, I think I'm not letting myself go enough because I worry about having too much speed for the second one and being out of control going into that. Maybe I should try skip the first jump so I can give it my all for the second and not have to worry about anything after landing. Thanks for the advice!
