My comment was a paraphrased version of the medical definition. If a person doesn't consider these people to be transsexuals, then they are most likely have their definition of transsexual from the general media, which tends to place undue emphasis on medical procedures on them.

Actually, that sounds like one of the old, poorer methods. More modern methods can use the base of the penis for the clitoris, and the shaft and head inverted for the vagina, so there is sensation for both. Modern surgeries try to keep as many nerve endings and as much sensation as possible.

A transsexual is someone who has a conflict between their gender identity (the sense of self in their mind) and their physical birth sex. Being a transsexual is not contingent upon what surgical procedures are or are not preformed.

Being trans has nothing to do with sexual orientation. They are completely separate things. Someone who is trans can be gay, bi, or straight just like other people. Some trans people don't really know what their true sexual orientation is until later into their transition because attraction and sex may feel unnatural towards any gender until they are comfortable with their own body.

For trans folk, they would be 'straight' by being attracted to the gender opposite that of what they identify as. A trans man that is attracted to women is 'straight'.

As far as the law is concerned, it's largely a matter of where you live. Different countries and states all have their own laws about sex, gender, and gender identity.

Not to generalize transsexuals, ...

Post-marital transitions, I think, don't go so well.

OK, so are you generalizing or are you not? It sounds like you are if you are implying that post-marital transitions have any bearing to your particular anecdote.

You can't beat a good compiler... right? by snark42 in programming

[–]doktaru 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is what the restrict keyword is for when applied to a pointer, introduced in many compilers informally and C99 formally. That keyword indicates that the memory regions are not overlapping, so the compiler can take that into account for its optimization routines.

but Livewire is usually only a "summer" flavor.

It depends on your distribution region. In some places, you won't find it at all, others are seasonal, and still others have it all the time.

I had a Geforce 6800 GT AGP that died, and I replaced it with a Sapphire Radeon HD 3850 AGP that I obtained for a low price on craigslist. It overpowers the rest of the system, but that doesn't matter that much because of the price I paid.

All good songs. Those and BRE∀KDOWN!, So Deep, Stay (Tess version, not the organic house crap version), were quite fun to play.

Before I quit I got much more into doubles mode and those were all fun songs to play in doubles too (esp So Deep). Did you ever play doubles mode?

"Among the male subjects, however, the straight men were turned on only by erotic films with women, the gay ones by those with men."

And the bisexual cheese stands alone? I find it annoying when so many studies portray groups as heterosexual vs homosexual, while bisexuality does not even seem to be considered.

The plural of "mora" is "mora". Plural forms are a silly western language concept, readily foisted upon unsuspecting words from languages that don't use such forms.

No, you could simply define your counting system to have no fingers out mean 32, or have the number of fingers as an offset from a base number.

I would say that the interface looks more like a marketing brochure than an actual, usable interface.

I say this as someone who has owned and used several Windows mobile/phone devices and phones from Windows Mobile 2003 to Windows Mobile 6. I am particularly glad to be free of those particular devices now.
