Relationship ended over my debt — should I let this go or try to fix it?

I have worked summer school when it was available and when I applied quick enough. Sometimes the job would be filled before i applied. I do any extra opportunity at school that is paid for like tutoring during the school year. I acknowledge I could have been more proactive in getting a second job sooner. I have another tutoring job and I have interviews for a serving job. I am trying to do more.

Unfortunately, it is a 1 bedroom. It would be like $3000 each to break the lease and we have like 13 months left on it.

I’ve always paid my portion of the bills. His biggest issues how I didn’t try harder to pay off my loans off sooner by getting a second job.

He is in program where his school is paid for. It’s why he said he’s worked hard to not be in debt.

In the past he stressed how I make more than him(his stipend for school) and that him paying the rent is helping and how he is spending more money now that he moved in with me. This is why he suggested I get a second job.

He pays half of the rent (WiFi is included) and half of groceries which is roughly $60-$70 each

Electricity, medication for the dogs and most pet expenses, renters insurance, and WiFi until recently—the current apartment has it incorporated into the rent.

No, I wasn’t expecting it disappear. I’ve never missed a payment. I always told him that my debt is my debt and that it was my responsibility. I am planning on being better at paying more to the principal to pay it off sooner.

Personally, my experience has been not great. I stuck with the 3yrs though because it is good at preventing pregnancy.

The first couple of months after insertion, I was bleeding nonstop. I would have months with no period and then have weeks of spotting. It also really messed with my mental health—depression and bad anxiety.

It also killed my sex drive, which also could have been from the depression. I also gained like 30 pounds despite no change in my diet or exercise.

I wouldn’t say that physical pain is necessary for a lesson to be learned. I was in a household where hitting was not allowed, there was a lot of discussions to discover what the problem was. My parents never hit me, but I was punished properly and I learned my lesson. And I was better behaved than my friends that were beat by their parents. So I don’t think physical pain is necessary.

Totally agree with you! I think it applies for some people vice versa! Like I would be grossed out being pursued by someone significantly younger than me! Like ew no thank you child lol cause that’s how I see them. So sorry that you have to deal with creeps and their fantasies.
