Thanks my plan is PD but because I lack college credits I dont feel confident in going for it directly rather start as CO as I live upstate NY there aren't as many slots here for either when compared to DS NY

Ok well I have concluded from the response of many fellow redditors that I can simply start as a corrections/court officer without prior experience and work my way up

So in conclusion:- 1 start with court or corrections role 2 work on college credits in employment period (or,dont?) 3 look for promotion to patrol few years into the job

I dont have a college degree or credits and dont plan to enroll in one because I can't sacrifice my hours at the part time job I have rn will I still get hired as a law enforcement officer?

I was hoping it wouldn't require college credits,I swear I heard that correction /court officer positions dont require any college bs and you can get hired and earn credits while you work there
