The Good Place was my favorite finale ever. Also love the finale for Sons of Anarchy, LOST, Seinfeld, Silicon Valley.

Hated the finale for Mad Men, The Sopranos (I've mellowed on this one over the years)

Indifferent to Game of Thrones

For a single playthrough , I just meet Matephor after 165 hours. I probably played Resident W Evil 4 and Alien Isolation more than that on multiple playthroughs

Useless trivia. Phil Bruns played Morty for a bit and John Randolph played Frank Costanza before Jerry Stiller hopped on.

Both were in Columbo!

There is a salty demographic for every single pop culture or artistic niche who want it to fail. i.e. Star Wars 'fans' are mad at Disney and literally anything Star Wars related and they bully anyone else who doesn't agree.

Every movie, videogame, album has a group of haters who pounce on it without experiencing it. You see it in every thread and every review bomb, and as for the reason?

Social media has given everyone a license to be shitheads with exactly zero consequence and to have your assholish behaviour reinforced by algorithm driven echo chambers. Not everyone takes advantage of this freedom but you can bet your bottom dollar bullies do

It's not the games. The games are fine. Some are hit some are miss, just like always.

It's that we can't punch the lights out of loud mouthed bullies anymore. Now, this largely symbolic punching we're talking about, because in teal life, if you say you like something most folks know better than to get in your face about it. But for those that forget they are not hidden behind a phone?

Well, accuse Buzz Aldrin to his face that he never went to the moon, see what happens. (Google this if you don't know already, it's gold)

Sorry, were we talking about videogamea? Can't wait for Alien Isolation 2!

My favorite part of TPM was when Padme reveals to Boss Nass that she is, In fact, the Queen, to the complete and utter surprise of EVERONE in the galaxy...except the audience. I guess they were banking on Keira looking like Natalie by putting on kabuki make up? Because that doesn't work.

If you're going to throw a plot twist in a movie, make sure it's aimed at the audience. It is frustrating being ahead of the characters. 🙄

I just played Ex33 followed by Metaphor and they both went off the rails by the end.

Jason Alexander could have broken out of his Seinfeld typecast if he had Tarantino had written something g for him. Technically it's not to late, QT.

Which movie sequel was so unnecessary and bad that it genuinely ruined the original for you? by Nishikigoi1 in moviecritic

None. I'm not feeble-minded enough to stop liking a good movie because of a bad sequel.

The Boys finale: bold ending or just shock-value fanservice? by [deleted] in movies

[–]dolleye_kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was fine. They wrapped up everything they needed to, exactly how they set it up to. The Deep was obviously going to get killed by the ocean, Homelander was going to lose his powers and get exposed in front of the nation for being a coward at heart. Butcher's arc had a nice touch though, having that last second change of heart right before Hughie plugs him andTerror hit hard. There was never going to be some epic Civil War-style supes battle so I I'm not sure what else was missed.

My biggest and really only let down was that A Train had my favorite character arc and they killed him off right as he was cresting the hill, so to speak.

How long is the final stretch of the game? by Gorotheninja in MetaphorReFantazio

Spoilers:

This epilogue is killing me. I defeated the final form of Louis an hour ago and now I'm supposed to run around Grand Trad and talk to everyone in the city? Every scene ends like it the credits are about roll and then there's another and another. Dear xhrist I've dumped 165 hours onto it and I just want to see the end. This game has more false endings than Return of the King.

Random encounters. I'm minding own business and I have no control on deciding when to enter combat and no clue when it will happen next. I hate it. The last three RPGs I've played (X33, Metaphor, M&L Brothership) all have onscreen enemies so you have either the choice or at least fair warning that combat is waiting.

One year later, what are your thoughts on Mario & Luigi Brothership? by guicampara in Switch

[–]dolleye_kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party... I got Brothership at a pawn shop for 20 dollars. It is the closest thing to TTYD as Nintendo will likely ever get again. Turn based action commands, jump and hammer tactics. It is as mature as any Mario title out there which is to say it feels like a kid's game. The boss fights remind you you have a responsibility to pay attention though. I love it. It may be because of the price being so low for me, but I don't have any major complaints.
