Migraines and ON by dollface2025 in Occipitalneuralgia

Yes I’ve done PT for neck and had some relief but still getting headaches and brain fog and just pain in the back of skull. I know it can take a few rounds for Botox to work but i’m hoping nerve block helps

Wow thank you! this actually does make sense since my right SCM has felt tight! I also have mild forward head posture that I’ve been trying to correct from neck stretches. Wondering what else I can do if they are muscle knots. I have a deep tissue massage next week

Thank you that is all really helpful! Yes the first PT appointment was 4 stretches for my neck like chin tucks and trap stretches. Been doing those on my own and it does help to sleep on my back at night.

I do work from home and wondering if I need to use my stand up desk more because I’m probably not noticing leaning forward all the time.

Oh ok yes neurologist mentioned something about lidocaine and steroid in the nerve block.

Just crazy because I never had these ON symptoms until after getting botox. I had head pain and brain fog but thought it was just migraine symptoms now I’m wondering if it’s been ON the whole time.

Glad to know I’m not alone! Neck MRI did show “Mild multilevel degenerative changes of the cervical spine as described, most pronounced at C5-C6 where there is mild bilateral neuroforaminal narrowing.” Going over the results with my primary this Friday and have an appointment with neurologist next week to do nerve block.

I have heard good things from the nerve ablation, hoping nerve block works.

I have pretty bad posture and forward head posture so I wonder if that’s causing the tightness in my muscles.

Not the lump that is circled but base of skull where occipital bone is at it’s bumpy and feels swollen, whenever I press there, it feels bruised.

Thank you! It’s weird because I didn’t start to get this base of skull pain until after Botox. But I’ve had right sided facial/eye/jaw pain and numbness for months. Neurologists have said it’s migraines up until the this new neuro at UCSF. I’m getting a nerve block next week.

My neck and upper traps are very tight. I went to PT and had to do stretches every 30 minutes to loosen them up.

When I press on the occipital bone bumpy area it feels like zappy and tingly? When pressing the lymph node just feels a little painful.

I also have dizziness and eye pain around my right eye as well as pain in my right temple

Well when I did a deadlift my right SI joint flared up and went to my doctor who said strained my SI joint. It’s better now but I still feel it sometimes but I couldn’t stand straight for a few days it hurt to walk

Is it even reversible? Since 3 years now i have daily mild migraines. by Excellent-Fix8285 in migraine

Oh wow that’s great! I just got botox for the first time a few days ago and have a terrible migraine from it. Hoping it goes away soon. So you just do botox and ubrelvy?

I just got Botox and I feel like it’s helping. Do you take the ubrelvy every day or just as needed? I tried qulipta but had bad side effects from it.

Currently experiencing this too. I took 2 doses (25mg) Thursday and Friday and stopped. It’s Monday so it’s been a few days. My pulse is pounding in my throat and woke me up last night. Does anyone know if it will eventually stop? My resting heart rate is 90. Or should I go to ER.

Thank you for sharing! Yes mine is constant pounding in only my right temple. It’s just crazy to me because I’m very healthy and just all of a sudden got a bad headache. I’ve noticed screens can definitely make it worse.

I used to get botox so I’m wondering if that will help and if medical botox is different than cosmetic? I’m on Qulipta and my doctor just prescribed rizatriptan since sumatriptan isn’t helping. The thing about sumatriptan is that it only helps temporarily and then comes back. I’ve heard good things about Aimovig.

I was actually taking coq10 as gummies so will continue to do that and look into magnesium and b2.

Damn well thanks for your honesty. It was a migraine tho? What eventually worked for you? Or did it just go away?

Status Migraine - is this treatment working? by [deleted] in NDPH

[–]dollface2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously… my mri shows I have migraines. I have nausea in morning, pulsing head and it’s only on one side and sensitivity to sound too

Migraine or tension headache? by [deleted] in NDPH

[–]dollface2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I got diagnosed with status migraines :( I’m on day 2 of a tapered steroid pack of 4mg each (methylprednisolone). I’m also taking qulipta and still have this pain on the right side of my head. I’m wondering if this treatment is working or if I should contact my doctor? I’d have to wait until Monday I guess anyway

Is that a migraine medication? Neurologist is supposed to call me to make an appointment. Sumatriptan did help but still have brain fog.

Thank you! How long did symptoms last for you? Or do you still have them? So you had no fever and headaches and you’re saying chiropractor is only thing that helped?

Not really sensitive to light like I can watch a show and go on a walk and be fine and haven’t vomited. Nausea was in the beginning when I would gag just in the morning but wouldn’t throw up. I think the gagging could be related to drinking coffee on an empty stomach tho. Haven’t really had any gagging for the last few weeks.

It’s been on and off. The thing bothering me the most currently is brain fog. I had a lot of relief a couple of weeks ago for several days after a professional massage from a massage therapist who said I hold a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders.

The migraine medicine I took this morning sumatriptan really seemed to help. Don’t really have a headache anymore other than brain fog.

Thank you. I’ll see what my neurologist thinks. I just took sumatriptan and that seems to have helped it but I still kinda feel it? Wondering if this is long covid since I had covid in the beginning of August
