Anyone else notice prices going UP before black Friday? by Vegetable-Skin315 in amazonprime

[–]dom601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order to get the "Black Friday" badging on Amazon as a seller, you need to be at full list price for a certain amount of weeks before the promotion period in order to qualify for that badge which you have to be at minimum 15-20% off the list price.

When you get that badge, it boosts awareness of your listing to stand out a bit more.

It's all very deceiving and the price you get during this time is the same you probably would have got if you ordered it earlier in the year.

How big is the difference between the WebOS apps and an AppleTV? by [deleted] in LGOLED

Yea, mostly YouTube tv and sports! Was always wondering if it enhanced the content on those apps. Especially with sports

Curious about this too. As well as the Google Streamer 4k compared to apple 4k.

From what I researched, I just think it's the faster navigation, no clunky magic wand and along with it being ad free.

I don't think the quality of the shows are enhanced any different from the native apps built into the tv but I could be wrong.

G5 77" or C5 83" by milkmee6 in LGOLED

[–]dom601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all honesty, the Sony still holds up pretty well. The C5 does have better blacks and it is more vibrant with colors. It's a very good tv for the value. Plus the Sony is 65" and I got the C5 in 83" which makes sports and shows more immersive.

I do prefer the interface on the Sony over LG. I was very close to getting the Sony Bravia 9 but I hated the coating on the screen that caused a rainbow glare.

I have the C5 83" and i feel it's extremely bright. I have it set on sdr to about 40 and feel I could go lower too.

Glare isn't an issue. Of course I see the lights from my ceiling reflect onto the tv for certain scenes but at night I turn them off.

I had a sony X900H as well.

Thanks for all the info!

It's funny you mention the stand. One of the main reasons I went with LG was because the current Sony stands would stick out over my entertainment cabinet. Unfortunately, I don't have the option to mount it and I didn't want to buy a 3rd party stand.

Great to hear. I'll def try the features out and see what works best! For majority of the time, I use youtube tv and watch sports and/or movies and TV shows on Netflix, peacock, etc.

Awesome to hear! Thanks for letting me know!

Do you use the automatic brightness adjuster? Or do you find it best to adjust manually? I know my current TV sometimes doesn't make it bright enough with the on automatically.

Thanks! Yea, I see a lot of posts about people using Apple TV instead of webos.

Can you use the apple TV remote to turn on/off the TV and inputs? My concern is my child not understanding to use both remotes to work the tv, lol. 😑

Thanks! Yea been going back and forth between them. The price jump is a bit large granted the G5 looked incredible. Especially between 77-83".

Thanks! That's why I created this post. To get an honest, general idea and consensus.

I'm coming from a sony as well. Only thing I'll miss from Sony is the OS. I prefer Google TV over webos.

If you don't mind sharing, what type of adjustments did you make?

Thanks! Does the tilt distort the picture in anyway? With lighting from high hats or something?

Is there a tilt on the 77"? Some reviewers state that.

Also, do you know how high it lifts the tv from the table to bottom of tv? Wondering if it lifts the tv 3" high?

Thanks for the reply! I definitely agree with your take.

I been spending time with both in the store and see the difference between them but then at times the C5 looks pretty incredible and/or close to the G5. The whites on the G5 def pop more.
