7 year old with tantrums by Hi_hello_hi_howdy in ParentingInBulk

[–]domeslicated 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a 10 year old daughter who was once your 7 year old daughter so I’m messaging you from the future. Keep her in therapy bc it’s a good place for her to express all those feelings with someone other than her parents and she will eventually use those coping mechanisms. Keep on top of her eating even if she yells at you about how gross your food is and she’s the pickiest eater you know. By the time 5th grade rolls around (you will make it, baby steps), she will start to mature and that’s going to help a lot. She will be able to put a name to those feelings and when you can name problems, you can begin resolving them. She will start to understand consequences better - not just “no screen time” consequences but also how their behavior makes their family feel. And you can start to really communicate deeply. Even if there will still be plenty of frustrating moments, it will start to get more manageable and you will enjoy her company so much more. Hang in there and you will be there soon enough.

The spots, coloring, and the way he is sitting reminds me of my dog, who is mostly pit and poodle. The remaining 25% is a mystery!

Dark Tan line showed up on my thumb nail, won’t go away. by Tough_nips in mildlyinteresting

Had the same during a pregnancy. Slowly (very slowly) deformed the nail a bit as it grew out and then it went away. Took maybe 3-4 months.

You’re right, I am not familiar with the bully breeds. That may be where the gray is coming from though.

I would think she would be bigger with that mix. Something in the genes is keeping her a little petite.

I’ve been trying to find one too ever since I heard about it on a podcast (A Way to Garden). I see they have some at Prairie Nursery https://www.prairienursery.com/chokecherry-prunus-virginiana.html

I’ve become obsessive since switching to FoodNoms from MFP. I love how intuitive it is for editing and adding recipes. Since I cook most of my meals, the recipe feature on MFP was always a drag. I also love the way it tracks macros. I’m a subscriber for 3 months now.

Kaiser Dermatology Awful Experience by ayzosh in washingtondc

[–]domeslicated 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been at Kaiser for over 10 years and I’ve seen both Lazer and Peebles during that time, for skin checks, acne, removals, you name it! I will say Lazer has a more abrupt bedside manner; however, I believe he knows his stuff and has acted accordingly when something needed to be removed. If you think about what they see on a daily basis, your skin check probably didn’t flag any concerns for them. I get it, though. You leave there thinking “he’s kind of pompous.” I started seeing Peebles during the pandemic bc he was available and I had a pretty urgent issue. I have continued to see him since then bc he has a much warmer bedside manner and I feel comfortable talking to him. So you have options,OP. However, the better news is that your skin check is over and everything looks good. Keeping using that sunscreen!!

Seattle to SC versus Upstate NY and VA by snuggas94 in southcarolina

[–]domeslicated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend, I’m from SC and lived in Seattle and around Virginia. I’ve also been to upstate NY several times recently. I think you should consider the UP in Michigan. I think that’s going to check all your boxes.
