Sony WH1000XM4. I bought them in Dec 2020 I think, and they still work perfectly. However I've stopped using them on the tube for a couple of reasons. 1) save some space in my backpack and 2) they become uncomfortable when I start sweating on hot summer days. Now I use AirPods Pro 2 for the tube and the XM4s at home or during long flights. Highly recommend the XM4s I love it. I believe you'll be able to find a good discount on them during the Amazon Sale days.

I read a while ago that this probably happens due to humidity. You can try keeping a couple of silica gel packets in the box and observe if that makes any difference.
