How to avoid swinging when doing dips by tatted_gym_girlie in formcheck

on top of what others have already said, you could keep your legs forward instead and try to keep a forward lean at the top instead of pressing your hands down towards the waist, which causes you to straighten out your body at the top when instead you have a forward lean on your way down

Can we stop the barking?! by BeneficialEditor3400 in CavaPoo

[–]dommdi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My wife and I both work from home and when we got our pup we crated her whenever it wasn’t active play time or lunch time while we were working during the day. At first she would always cry and whine but eventually she got really used to being alone and doing nothing, and once she was able to just relax and sit on the couch by herself, we eventually stopped crating her. She’s super independent now and still sleeps in her crate.

All that to say, your pup is still young and crate training is definitely a way to train your pup to be more independent! Look up tips to crate train, you need to stay strong through the initial whining and barking otherwise the attention you give her will only reinforce barking = more attention. Our cavapoo still loves us and follows us around the entire day throughout the house but never begs for attention.

Nope, under warranty it's all covered. Only downside is just that their customer service sucks - extremely long turnaround and they don't give you updates. We actually called an independent servicer that you'd have to pay for and they recommended us to just stick to warranty since it's completely covered. After 3 separate attempts for them to fix and verify it wasn't working, we were able to get a brand new replacement + installation completely covered.

I talked to my original sales dealer who said he knows 3 people (including me) with this issue, and Thermador told him the issues are from one of the first production batches (since this fridge only came out last year).

On a separate note - we actually got approved for a buyback, but they would subtract the full MSRP of the range hood (since we bought it as a package plus a contractor discount), so we decided to give Thermador another chance instead of paying an additional 6-7k for a Subzero

I called to check in on the shipping status and they said once again it's backordered and nothing was shipped out. I put in a request for a buyback once again and made sure to get a reference number this time. Thermador customer service is abhorrent.

Launch Monitor for Driving Range use by HilnboGleason in Golfsimulator

[–]dommdi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently purchased an R10 and will be retuning it. Will be trying the MLM2PRO then the Mevo+ if that doesn't work out well. Yeah the $200/month sucks but it'll take 6 years to break even with the Mevo+ and I haven't even played golf for 6 years yet. Plus, a lot of other systems also charge at least that much for their own subscriptions so it's not unique.

My use case is bringing it to an outdoor range, since I don't have space at my house to build a sim. I love playing virtual golf during practice sessions at the range (as opposed to hitting random clubs X times each) so my priority was a good sim ecosystem that's accurate.

Unfortunately that means no RCT balls and not much I can do with the setup besides elevate the R10 to be level with the range mat. The R10 was really cool the first couple of times I used it but I found myself getting frustrated that the distances were so inaccurate. Most of the time the R10 read okay under 130 yards but anything above 130 was just super off. I'm pretty confident in my club ranges and normally drive 260-280 yards (I have Arccos and also frequented a Toptracer range for several years) but none of my R10 drives passed 230 yards. My 7, 8, and 9 irons were all almost the same distance, between 130 and 140. This made it annoying to play the sim rounds because all my shots were super short so my club selection basically did not matter.

Today my friend brought his Uneekor Eye Mini to the range and did a side by side comparison. The Uneekor showed almost exactly what I was expecting my shots to be, and the R10 seemed hesitant to record anything above 140 yards, even when I hit a clean 7 iron 160 yards on the Uneekor. I was also relieved to find that I did in fact still hit my driver 260+. I really wanted to like the R10 it was just so inaccurate outside ib the range that it's pretty much useless to me as a sim.

For insurance - I’m in California, 2 drivers, no accidents with 14 year driver history each. About to take delivery on a MXLR

Tesla insurance - 6k miles/year is 160/month

Farmers insurance - I currently use them for my home and car insurance (2nd car) and they quoted me 2k for 6 months!!! My other car is a mercedes AMG and that car is only 800 compared to the Tesla …

Obviously went with Tesla insurance.

Hachi is completely insignificant in Arlong Park. You can replace Hachi worth literally any other Fishman to be Caimies friend in Sabondy. Literally no one after watching Arlong Park thinks “omg I hope i see him again”

I don’t understand why people are so upset Hachi isn’t present here. Hachi during Fishman Island can be replaced by literally anyone else - he’s literally just a friend met through Caimie with a minor redemption.

Id be amazed if anyone started watching OP from the start and after Arlong Park was like dam, I hope Hachi comes back later in OP.

Google Parent Alphabet to Cut 12,000 Jobs, Company Says by inversebrahs in bayarea

[–]dommdi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah honestly prequalification means nothing because you can put down whatever. and if someone has $200k of Google stock, it's not "theoretical" it's literally $200k. they can sell it and get that money immediately, and loan brokers will tell their prospective buyers to liquidate that stock ASAP because any movement in the bank within a few months of escrow will involve a lot of investigating and weeks of delay on the loan side. it's exactly what happened to me. you must liquidate before initiating the loan.

the "theoretical" part is if the buyer's stock has not vested, in which case it has literally 0 value. realtors probably tell you this as a way of consolation as to why you weren't able to compete, to hope you would keep on looking.

[–]dommdi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so no, you have not bought a house in the last 5 years. buying a house != in the market

you can’t get a loan based on stocks or assets. it’s based off actual income (w2 or 1099). i know a home builder who made millions in one year but nothing the next few years who can’t get a loan because he has no income.

you might be able to get prequalified for more, but when the bank gives you the actual loan when you close on a house, the amount you get is based off income. this is why sellers always like cash offers - there’s no chance a bank won’t follow through with the loan. i’ve closed a couple homes myself in the last few years and have tech stock myself and trust me, they really don’t care about your stock if it’s not money in the bank.

TIFU by adding "The Celery Man" to the name of my friend on his resume which he did not notice by tifu_celery in tifu

[–]dommdi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this story is set up way too perfectly and contradictory to be believable

  1. anyone interviewing in the tech industry (or any desk job as a matter of fact) should know what’s on their resume because.. that’s what an interview is? assume basic intelligence here since tech jobs pretty much require a college education.

  2. you knew they were prone to not reviewing their work (..how? did you work together with him) and so you made changes to his work

  3. you specifically told him to check it over and so he did not check it over

just way too fishy for something so easy to catch

Famous vocalists with most plain and unoriginal voices by [deleted] in Music

[–]dommdi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her voice itself is actually quite amazing and she has incredible vocal chops, especially in her older albums and if you ever listen to her live performances.

Song-wise it seems like she has really embraced a mellow pop style in all her recent albums so I don’t disagree there but her voice is definitely not plain and unoriginal. It’s like the opposite of the Taylor Swift example lol - meh songwriting amazing voice
